My HP C7200 printer won't print from the photo tray

I changed the settings on my computer for the printer to print 4X6 from the photo tray, but when I send the job to the printer, the printer wants to print from the main tray on full-sized paper. This is driving me crazy!

I have the same problem, this printer worked fine with Photoshop on my Windows XP, but now that I'm using a Mac it will only print on regular paper and I've lost the HP printing dialog box. On paper size it sometimes only lists letter and envelope sizes not 4x6. Also, I can't find anything listing photo tray, or defining the type of paper. Does anyone know what's wrong?

have been working on this for days.  Printer always says printer out of paper.  It will not go to 4x6 tray.

If you using a mac: After choosing the Photosmart C7200 to print your file on the print preview, change PAPER SIZE to 4x6, then lower down, change from PREVIEW to PAPER TYPE/QUALITY, more options will open underneath, on SOURCE, change from MAIN TRAY to PHOTO TRAY. You should also change the PAPER TYPE to some kind of PHOTO PAPER (whichever one your using, but the standard seems to be HP ADVANCED PHOTO PAPER)

If using a mac, after you click on print, a second print window will come up. There should be a drop down window at the bottom (mine always says "iPhoto" in this window) and if you click on the down arrow you should see an option to change the "Paper Type/Quality". Click on this and change the "Source" from Main Tray to Photo Tray. Good Luck!!

Hp c6180 won't print from 4x6 photo paper tray

If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray. I hope this helps.

I want to print photos from my laptop onto four by six photo paper, and i loaded the photo tray with the paper, and changed the tray preference to photo tray, but it's still telling me that there's no...

You also need to change the paper type in printing preferences. You will find 4x6 and 4x6 with tab in th pull down menu where it says plain paper. Be sure to position the paper as far as it will go into the printer and close the paper controls to hold it there. Also fan it well before you put it in.

Efforts to print 4x6 borderless print result in only top part of photo paper being used and top third of photo being cut off

First thing to try (and I'm assuming you're attempting to print a photo within HP Image Zone & have already selected the 4x6 photo tray? Hint: can be done via printer, properties, printing shortcuts) is to change the 'more options' directly below where you'd selected the 4x6 image size and then change to 'shrink to fit' vs. the default 'crop to fit'... Additional thoughts includes rotating the image (can be done directly on the preview screen...)

HP Photosmart D7360-Won't print from photo tray

You have to push in the photo tray~. Push until you hear it click...then it will print from the print tray and in turn, you will be able to print photos unto your glossy photo paper instead of the letter size paper.
