I have just restored my computer, and although my seagate hard drive is showing in device manager, it not showing in my computer so I cant access it, or find anything that is saved on it.
Is this internal or external drive?
Assuming that it has worked previously.
go to control panel/system/ device manager/hardware and check out the USB connections[assuming it is USB] are there any yellow tabs showing?
If yes click on the drive and then driver and then rollback driver.
If no yellows showing make sure the drive is powered up[ yeah yeah I know but it happens]
Then go to bottom task bar and the safely remove
hardware icon and click to see what hardware is showing as active.
Remove the USB connection and reinsert into another slot if poss or swap with something.
try all ese thing include an occasional reboot
Come back let us know what is going on.
the next question- I should have asked first time around
Here it is
how is it powered- external or from the USB bus?
If it it from the USB bus then the chances are the Computer PSU is not delivering enough oomph to deliver.
So disconnect all other USB devices and see what gives
