SOURCE: Connect laptop to TV

the 3.5 mm-composite cable will go from your headphone jack on the left side of your laptop out to your TV. The S-Video will go from the back of your laptop to your TV. Unfortunately your samsung doesn't have an S-Video though there are converters you can get to downgrade from s-video to composite. Your toshiba though should definetly have an s-video.
If you need anything else let me know. I hope you find this worth of a Fixya rating.
Thanks,
Lee

How do i fix white screen on my kav60 acer aspire one

The KAV60 is also the AOD250.

Netbook OFF, monitor OFF, connect an external monitor to the netbook's VGA port.

[You can use a VGA monitor. Looks like a small TV.
This is an example of a VGA port,

VGA connector Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Note* VGA port doesn't have to be blue in color ]

Turn the monitor on. Turn the netbook on.
If there is no image shown on the external VGA monitor, press and hold down on the Fn key, and at the same time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.
(The F5 key is the Display Toggle-Over key)

No image on external VGA monitor?
Hold the Fn key down once more, and tap again on the F5 key.

Still no?
Problem is internal in netbook. Probably graphics chipset soldered to the motherboard.
Replace motherboard.

Image shows on external monitor?
Problem is with Video Cable or laptop LCD screen.
MOST of the time it's the Video Cable.

The Video Cable connects to the motherboard, in an area under the Keyboard. It then routes up under the left Hinge, and into the Display Panel.
Inside the Display Panel it then connects to the LCD screen.

With frequent opening and closing of the netbook, the Video Cable can be pulled on. This can cause damage to the Video Cable.
(Stretched/broken wires inside the sheath of the cable)

And/or it can cause the connection at the motherboard to be loose, and/or at the LCD screen.

Example of Acer Aspire One video cable,

For ACER Aspire One D250 LCD Screen Cable DC02000SB10 KAV60 New

You can remove the Video Cable, and check it's continuity with a multimeter, or if the cost is reasonable to you simply replace it.

8 to 10 dollar video cable is not the problem? Then problem is the LCD screen itself.

My money is on a loose video cable connection, or damaged video cable.

For additional questions or to have me clarify/simplify anything in my solution, please post in a Comment.

Connect toshiba satellite l305-s5919 to tv with vga to rca cable

that particular model of computer l305-s5919 has RGB component out while the tv seems to be rca input.
does the tv have component in.
you may find an adapter like this might work

Interfaces 1 x Display / video - VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) , 1 x Network - Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX - RJ-45 , 1 x Microphone - Input - Mini-phone 3.5 mm , 1 x Headphones - Output - Mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm , 3 x Hi-Speed USB - 4 pin USB Type A

The above interfaces are in your laptop. There is no S-cable or HDMI interface.
If your TV have VGA port you can connect your TV to the VGA port in laptop. This will alow you to convert the TV as monitor.

I've got a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 that I'm trying to connect to my very old TV (16 years). I'm going through the VCR. I thought I could connect the laptop's VGA to the RGB port on the VCR, tune to the...

No that will NOT work, first the PC's VGA doesn't have any "Channel" Second you must install Drivers for said VGA card, and the card MUST have a TV out connector either SVHS, or Composite, video out, or as of late HDMI. You Cannot "Receive" a VGA, signal at all. on a TV or Monitor the input is through Auxiliary At the rear or side of the PC there should be either or both of a 15 Pin DIN Plug, HDMI socket. or a Yellow RCA or 4 -7 pin DIN. Now IF these are present then YES you can connect to a TV. Now some TV's have a connector a DB15 MALE, so that the cable from the PC to the TV, is DB15. this plugs in directly, with appropriate DB15 cable. This, however, will ONLY take the VIDEO to the TV, Audio is delivered via the "Audio Out" Jack on PC, and Plugged into the AV Sockets on the TV, with a dual cored coaxial cable, they are Red & White. Some PC's also have a Yellow RCA Connector, OR a 4 -7 Pin DIN Socket, that requires a Special Adapter Cable (That generally came with the unit, and are colored and marked as to output) to use, for Video/Audio Out to TV. This signal is Composite or SVHS Video & Stereo Out. This connects up TO the TV's Composite/SVHS input Jacks and the Red & White Audio IN, RCA Jacks, &/or DIN SVHS socket.
First you need to know if your PC can output to a TV. Then you need to get the adapter & cables that connect the PC to the TV. Then you need the correct TV drivers installed for your video card. When they are all installed, you need to "Enable" that Monitors, the TV's, Desktop. You need to set either a "Cloned" display or "Spanned, Extended Desktop". Go to "Display Settings" Now ensure the TV/Monitor connected has the correct input/output display settings. Adjust the screens resolution via the resoloution "Slider", it is best to start with, 800x600 32 bit color. or even lower. and once working OK, THEN increase to max resolution, your TV can handle, find out from manual. Once it is all connected up. It should all just work great. Now, from then on, &, to get it to work every-time, the process is. Turn everything OFF. Connect the leads between PC & TV, Turn the TV, ON. Then, startup the PC up. It should "Detect" that it has TWO "Monitors" ie: One Monitor & One TV/Monitor, & you should see your desktop appear after a bit. Now you have screen 1 & screens 2. Now, if you are using "Cloned" mode, then whatever is displayed on the Master monitor, will be displayed on the TV. If you used Spanned, mode, in this mode, however, you will have to."Drag" the Video window, over to the TV, and it is though, you have one "Big Desktop". Now IF using Nvidia or ATI then BOTH of those have thier OWN, Control Panel, this, all then can make it all a lot easier to do it. So I would suggest that this method be used. But if you get stuck, or just want to do it by hand, then the the "By Hand" method is the only way. There is a great program called MultiMon, this allows great control over dual displays, and is well worth installing.

Connecting my netbook to my tv

Hi

You will need a male to male, 15 pin D-SUB VGA cable to connect the webbook to the TV. You also have to make sure that your television supports such a connection. If not and it has side AV then you can get a male to RCA VGA cable.

Then you will need an audio cable as VGA does not carry a an audio signal. You will need a male to male mini stereo jack.

Connect the VGA cable to your computer and then to the TV. Then plug the audio jack into the headphones socket of the webbook and to the PC IN or audio in on the TV.

Turn the webbook on and if you have to use the Fn key and one of the F keys to switch screens (it usually does it automatically but the keys are usually between F4 and F7)

Display my laptop on my tv

You can't connect a standard TV to a computer using a VGA cable. If you have it, use the composite (yellow) RCA jack or S-Video from your laptop. As for turning off a laptop monitor, look on the function keys for LCD/CRT or icon for monitor (typically 3, 5, 7, or 8) hold down FN key and press the correct function key.
