The cycle signal will not quit beeping. It is going back and forth between on & off. It wouldn't start so I unplugged and the cycle started then the beeping began again. The washer is now running. When I push the button is does nothing.
This is a common problem with the Oasis. The problem is with the interface control board in the console, and/or wiring harness to the board. I have repaired three of these problems in the last 6 months and it was the interface control board each time. The machine will still function normally except for the annoying noise. I don't know of an easy way to defeat the noise functions to the interface control board, or if it should even be attempted. You could cause more harm than good. It can be a bit pricey to replace, and can be tedious to remove. If you wish to attempt to repair, let me know and I can give you some step by step tips on how to remove.
Might be a good idea if you still have a warranty or service plan. That way, if something gets broken in the process of trying to repair, the cost will lie with the repairman and not you.
I'm having this same issue, but with more complications. Can u help me?
So Ive had to remove the top portion, the (WM control panel) and rattle wires of all sorts in order to get the beeping to stop. When it beeps it will not respond to the buttons at all to start wash etc. So I wiggle wires and tubes etc. and when the beeping stops I QUICKLY push START!!! It will then start, and immediately start beeping and will not stop until I lift the lid, but is washing as normal..
I am trying to pinpoint the exact wire it could be. I notice if I push the clear tube dwn, wiggle the brown wire with plug, and then squeeze the blue wires
(washer wire harness) it stops it from beeping for a few. almost seems like a loose wire not all the way pushed into the plug (connector)and is not getting a constant connection...
Am I close?
I do not want to spend unnecessary money on parts if it wont fix the issue.
I have had to constantly keep buying warranty's for it since I purchased it 10 yrs ago at 250+ a pop per every 1-2 yrs.
After figuring out I had spent $3625 in warrenty's and parts and purchase inthe last 7 years, I cant see spending much more, although I LOVE this washer when It does work...
Then techs weren't fixing the right issues (rod) and takes weeks to get one out. now its a recall of course!!ehhhh
I stopped buying the warrenty's 3.5 yrs ago and resorted to self fixing the pump, lid lock and basket issues. Now this issue!!!!
I am very positive Im in the ball park of the real issue but want to narrow it down.
I'm thinking its either of these: Washer wire harness?, Washer Electronic control board?, washing machine control panel?, or Interface?

I too have the same problem. Washer was 1 yr old in April. Did not purchase extended warranty because i thought i'd get at least a year or two without any problem! I called Sears and told them others have had this problem but they would not offer me any compensation. They said unless a recall was out on this washer they couldnt help me. They did tell me I could purchase a 1 yr warranty for $200 which i did. They are sending out a repairman and will waive the service fee of $59 and any parts or labor. Not a good deal, but I figure this part will cost at least $200!

Called Sears & they told me a technician would have to come out & fix it.
I have the same problem with the beeping noise throughout the washing cycle and my matching dryer also does the same thing.
Can someone walk me through fixing it myself?
I had the same problem and just unplugged the machine when I finished washing. When I turned it on and selected my wash cycle, it always defaulted to the clean washer cycle. After several tries of turning the power off and on, it would finally work. The bad news is that I did this for several months. This week when I plugged it in and pushed power, it didn't come on at all. I've got a service appointment scheduled now.
same thing with our machine, 6 months out of warranty. sears waived the 72.00 service fee, but still cost 314.00 for the control board, then after it was fixed, it started doing it again!!!
a third call to sears national customer care revealed the "user interface" needed to be replaced too. after alot of angry words from me, the service operator offered me a 20.00 gift card. what an insult. the service technician who called me said he would put in under warrantee. finally someone who cared!!!!
what happened to standing behind your product?
what happened to customer service?
an 800.00 washer needing 314.00 put into it to fix what is obvioously a design flaw!!!
I too purchased a Kenmore Elite Oasis model 2704 and it starts to beep about 30 secs to a min after i start it. While the beeping noise is going off my cycle signal goes back and forth.
I have the same problem with the Auto Temp Control beeping and continually changing while washing. I contacted Sears to see if there was a recall on the Kenmore Oasis (Top Loading) and there is one by Whirlpool for the control board. Why didn't they contact people who purchased these machines. Call this toll free number 1-800-659-7026 for the Sears Recall Dept. They are replacing my part and labor at no charge.
Same problem on a Kenmore Oasis HE 27072602 with the continuous beeping on the Cycle Signal. Was able to romove the console interface but the printed circuit board was like trying to read hieroglyphics. What is the repair operation? Can that particular circuit be disconnectd?
The washer was acting as if it was going to come on like normal, but when I hit the start button, the dryer light came on and it beeped about 6 times. Now it does nothing but beep about 6 times
