SD and Mini SD memory cards has a small slide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects data on the memory card or add photos to the SD card. Slide the switch from the LOCK position to the UNLOCK position, which is furthest away from the contacts.

SOURCE: "Turn the power off and on again" error message

I just had the same problem and I didn't know what to do and I found this post it was somewhat helpful. After I read this I disassembled the camera and I pulled out the lens cover up a bit its held by this white plastic inside be careful not to pull to hard because it looks like it could break easily. After I got the lens cover a little bit above the lens itself I powered it up and the lens MOVED! I tested it again and it worked. So I placed the lens cover back over the lens. And it all back together. It was a really quick fix it took me less than 10 minutes. I hope this is helpful to anyone that gets "Turn off the power off and on again" error.

If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

How do i unlock my memory card its not allowing me to take photos.

I am assuming that your camera uses and SD card to store the pictures.
If you remove the memory card from the camera, you should see a little slider on the side of the card that says "lock," it is easy to accidentally lock SD cards.
I have attached a picture to show you what a locked SD card looks like.\:codyrt.jpg
Here is another image showing the card in the unlocked position: codyrt_0.jpg

I can see the pictures form my 1 gb sd card in my Casio Exilim. However, I cant see or transfer the pictures when I connect the camera to my laptop via the usb cable? the camera comes up as removalble...

It's good the laptop recognizes the camera as an external drive. A couple of things make sure you are looking at the SD card and not the cameras internal memory. Most point and shooters can't download directly from the internal memory to the computer they need to be transferred to the SD card first. Also if they are on the SD card for sure look to see if you have locked any of them cause that will prevent a download as well. It almost appears as if the SD card became locked which all it will alow you to do is look at teh picture and nothing else. I'm including a diagram of the little lock on the side of the SD card make sure that's in the open position.

We have inserted sd-ms card onto our laptop to upload the photos onto FB.however the card when inserted back onto the camera, about 50 over images show, incompatible jpeg?how do we solve this issue?

The computer uses a small program to be able to upload pictures from the memory card once the pictures are safely on the computer hard drive hopefully you created a file folder for them then the memory card needs to be formatted in the camera. Formatting the memory card cleans the card and makes it compatible to the camera again. Every time you download images to the computer the memory needs formatting in the camera. Any new memory card needs formatting in the camera a card that has been formatted in the computer needs to be reformatted in the camera. Also please be aware that there is a protection lock on the side of the SD card and if placed in the incorrect orientation will actually lock the card from formatting or deleting files on the card. I'm going to include a diagram here to show you where this little switch need to be for the "unlock" position.

Switch needs to be towards the top of the card in the direction of the gold contacts

try to take a look on the SD card itself. there should be a notch on the side that say "locked" slide it up/down to unlock.. The term SD means "secure digital" meaning the SD card can be locked as to accidental erasures..

Remove SD card, then whilst card is removed, delete all pictures that may still be stored in cameras 'internal' memory (usually just a few) then replace SD card. Should be unlocked now?.
