Watching my RCA model# F27242GY television yesterday when it went completely out. Try to turn it back on with remote but just made clicking noise but no picture or sound. Let it sit over night and try once again in a different plug socket, same clicking noise but 3 times. Could it be a fuse? if it is where would I find it? Please reply soon watching TV on a 13" screen--killing my eyes!!!
Hey Jim, The high voltage protection circuit has gone out on the D-board and will need to be replaced. The fuse to the power supply is probably fine. A good repair tech shouldn't charge over $125 for this and it only takes a couple of hours. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Hello If the remote control doesn't work, just buy one RCA RCR model universal remote control. Without remote control, you can't set the time to this set.
If you must purchase a universal remote, please buy an RCA universal remote with menu and input buttons. You will be glad you did! Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!
If this particular model does not have your typical RCA jacks in the front or back, Yes you will have to purchase an RF converter box. This is a common problem for the older conventional TV. Visit your local electronic store. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!
My experience with the RCA F27242GY 27" TV going on and off is as follows:
Where the coaxial cable connects at rear and the base of the TV chassis part # 15062-57A is loose.
First did you try all the codes. Some codes do not activate that function to work with the TV. Second what type of TV is it . If it is a combination tv - vcr - dvd these are the hardest to get to work with a universal remote . good luck
It sounds like the high voltage transformer went bad, There is no fox for you to do unless you have experience and the knowledge to fix and repair solid state TV sets. Play it safe and call out a RCA service center to give you an estimate. Good Luck
Probably needs a new HV Splitter block, they are very difficult to replace and can usually be accessed thru the front behind the speaker grill and behind convergence board.
If you have a remote control you should be able to access the "atuoprogram" feature within the setup menus. This will look for all active channels and place them into memory. What model is it?
