Same problem all these folks are having........ I have taken back cover off and I am wondering if it could be this fuse where the power is coming into the board.

Gurus, help needed on fixing a Samsung LCD TV (LN-S4051D). The 1.5 year old TV won’t turn on. There is no picture or sound. When plugged in, a click sound was first heard followed by the red LED light blinking 4 times (next to the power button on the panel). Then the click sound came back again with 4 blinks of the LED light. The whole thing went into a cycle while the power button on the panel and the remote are not functioning.
I did some research and followed the suggestions on a “similar” problem brought on this forum. I replaced the IP board (power board) with a new one. The problem still existed. Then I checked all the capacitors on the PCB board (the main board) and found no blown ones. My question is that what is the real problem of the TV, and if it’s worth to spend another 300 dollars to replace the PCB board. (I already spent over 100 bulks on a new IP board). BTW, the TV cost me 1300 dollars when I bought it. Thank you all,

I actually have the same exact problem, I've been reading and there is no other way than replacing the main board. Anyways, since the TV is 1.5 years old, Samsung won't honor warranty.. we should fight it together, this is an actual recall there is no way this is happening and none of us do nothing....

I have exactly the same problem that was reported by xiangr on Jun 17, 2008. Same make, same model, 1.5 yrs old, four blinks cycling over and over again but TV never comes on. Our problem started on August 17, 2008. Have not tried anything other than internet to see if there are similar problems

Same deal with my 4051D, it clicks intermittently while plugged in. Does not respond to remote control other than to make more clicking sounds when certain buttons are pressed .. strange.
Please e-mail solution or advice to me.

I have the same problem. Anyone knows how to fix it?
There are many reasons as to why the tv can default to service mode (blink codes) and may have nothing to do with the power supply board. Flat panel tv technology incorporate intuitive interrupt circuits designed to prevent catastrophic failure regardless of the boards functionality.
Some root causes to this condition may be:
1 Bad inverter board (step-up hi-voltage CCFL)
2 faulty regulator control board (data timing)
3 faulty interface processing board(s) (signal switching)
4 faulty power supply board (main voltage)
5 Bad LCD driver circuit, or faulty LCD panel its self.
6 faulty scan circuits.

To diagnose and solve these particular circuit scenarios require a professional service technician. Any of the problems above would take around 35 minutes and 100 bucks to repair at a service center.
But if you insist on fixing it yourself I can try to help you determine which board is possibly defective. I do have schematics for this chassis. If you have a multi-meter and 5mhz oscilloscope we can get started. These are the 2 instruments needed to check for critical waveforms and voltages according to the schematic data. It could be any circuit in the tv causing this condition.
The components on the circuit boards that could be defective are as follows:
Diodes
Transistors
Inductors
Resistors
Transformers
Crystal oscillators
Filters
Relays
Transducers
Capacitors
IC chip arrays

Modular causes to this condition may be:
poor resistance too ground
high current too ground
over voltage
under voltage
over current
under current
shorted switch actuation

Software related blink intervals:
Parental locks
Sleep mode
Hidden key commands (test mode servicing)
"though if in this blink category the tv should come on requiring password. So this is unlikely....
If pound the broken fuse, need to exchange the IP Board
but sometimes the Main Board problem happen 70%

This is crazy!! We have the same problem. Just started today, and has been out all day. Our TV is the same exact age a little over 1 yearsold, and the same clicking issue with the red light. I am calling Samsung to see how to start a possible recall. Lets do this together!!!
Add me to the list guys. I am starting to think that it is a time bomb, just out of warenty and poof. LOL..got a 1980's sylvania console in the garage that is still running strong go figure.
Same issue....at first it did for only a little while, once it even came back on by itself for a couple of hours, now its done, it will not come back on.
