The service error refers to an hardware issue with the printer.. U can try the following step,if this didnt resolve the issue only option is servicing.

1. Unplug printer.
2. Press and hold SYMBOLS & ENTER/MENU.
3. Continue to hold down the buttons while you plug back in the printer, through the entire
power-on sequence.
4. When display reads PERMANENT STORAGE INITIALIZE or HP LASERJET 3200
release the buttons.

You need to call your merchant services provider's tech support dept and have the terminal redownloaded, or a new file built.

1st shut the printer off
2nd Disconnect it from the Computer
3rd turn it on

Does the error still occur?

If it starts properly print a configuration page.

If this is possible you have a Printer Driver issue.
Replace the Print Driver.

If it still has the error when the printer is NOT connected to the Computer then you have a firmware issue most likely.

The thermal print head probably needs to be replaced on the unit. You will have to contact Verifone to find out how to get it fixed.

Did you try to use the "alpha key"? Press the number key that has the letter you need, then keep pressing the alpha key to get the letter you need.

Make sure the phone line from the wall is plugged into the correct socket on the rear.
There are 2 plugs one to connect to the phone and the other to connect to the wall.

Start by calling the processor help desk and see if they can reload the application. If they can't, you will need a new unit.
