I have a RUUD heating and air unit, Model number rrka-a042jk10e. This connected to a propane tank, we had ran out of gas and now it is refilled but now the piolt will not light. Is there a reset button

That model number is for an air handler (indoor unit) and not associated with tonnage. Air handlers are more often rated according to CFM and auxiliary heat.

In order to get the tonnage you would need to look at the model number of the outdoor unit (likely a heat pump). Typically tonnage is expressed in 1000s of BTU/hr, i.e. 24 = 2.0, 30 = 2.5, 36 = 3.0, etc.

What is the model number?

Ignition Lockout on this unit means #1 that it is set up on propane. If you are low on propane, or were low on propane and just refilled, low/no gas pressure could be the issue. If you ran out of propane, thre is now air in the gas line that needs to be fully blead out.
If propane level is not the issue, replace the ignitor.

The ignitor on these units is also the flame rectifier (flame sensor). If the unit is firing up, but the computer thinks that it is not, then it is not sensing a flame. Replacing the flame rectifier/ignitor will fix the problem in this case.

I don't believe Weber makes a gas conversion kit for your model grill. I say this, because your model grill comes two ways, Natural Gas or Propane. This indicates to me, that there's more than just changing the burner orifices involved.

I can tell you this ... If you could convert it to Natural Gas, you would soon discover that the grill doesn't preheat as fast as with propane. Nor, will it maintain heat as well as propane, in an outdoor environment. Propane burns cleaner and hotter than Natural Gas in an outdoor environment.

Sure, it may seem like a hassle to refill and change the tank, but I can assure you, you won't be satisfied with it's performance.

to clear lockout,you have to cut power then back on.

is the unit running outside? did you check the breaker? Ruud units often times will have a reset bitton on the outside unit to the left of where the freon lines connect. It is a high pressure switch if it comes on when reset make sure the coil is clean and the fan runs(outside)

You will need to cut off power
find the gas shut off at your unit and cut off.
Loosen the fitting after the cut off and open the cut off slowly until you smell gas. re tighten and turn gas and power back on.

try getting the numbers on top of the compressor and taking that to your ruud dealer

You need to remove the covers from the unit and blow out the gas lines with compressed air. If you can remove the gas lines blow out the lines and what they connect to like the pilot light and main feed line to the burner. Usually they gunk up with use and just need to be blown out with compressed air to clear the lines again. Maybe you have some dirt or foreign object from your gas tank which has clogged the line. Also check the igniter electric lines as well and make sure everything is connected properly. Especially make sure you tighten the gas lines you remove. Hope this helps.
