Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: need drivers for digital camera polaroid i832 driver to work with win xp

do you have any firewall or antivirus software installed?

if so you might want to try this

Remove the software you have placed on there.
will be in the add/remove programs in the control panel

Then you need to click on start--->run---->msconfig---->in the general tab there click on diagnostic setup. ------->accept and then restart

Now install your software now that your firewall and antivirus software is not running.

Reboot your computer

Now click on start------>run------>msconfig----->now click on normal startup in the general tab----->accept and reboot your computer.

Wait till windows loads completely

now plug in your usb cord for your camera and then plug it into the camera and test to see if it work correctly now for you

if you have the manual for the camera refer to the install procedure on that as well.

if you dont have the manual here it is for you.

What are the modifications to download pics from polaroid 640 se camera using windowsxp

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Software compatibility

Unfortunately this sofware only works with windows 95/98, but if you use windows XP compatability wizard it should work. Go to this site for help on how to do it as I would have take up the whole page to type it. http://polaroid.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/polaroid.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1685&p_created=1001455215&p_sid=t-BCyfki&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0xMjAmcF9wcm9kcz0wJnBfY2F0cz0wJnBfcHY9JnBfY3Y9JnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9YW5zd2Vycy5zZWFyY2hfbmwmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1YUA**&p_li=&p_topview=1
