You may have just over done it. you may need a new battery to get it to work. when you are adding things to your psp, make sure you understand the power you are going to need. if you overload it it may do the same thing. I say you try a new battery. connie

My psp just went black with the power light on, i took out the battery and waited 5 minutes and stuck it back in and it worked. My psp is modded i dont know if thats the reason why it worked when i put the battery back on

  • mikedinfl Feb 15, 2011

My psp slim did the same thing but no mods on mine. Had power with plug or battery, power light was on but it had no sound or screen. Also would not turn off unless I removed the battery. Ran the battery down, charged it again(took hours)... I suspected humidity because I left it in my travel trailer for a month(a rainy month). After taking it apart as seen on youtube(not always smart) I used a blowdryer on low heat, from far away for only 30 seconds. Put it back together and it turned on fine the first try. But, then I realized I accidentally disconnected the ribbon for the buttons across the bottom (volume, select, start, etc) I took it apart again and carefully reinserted the end of the ribbon... FINALLY I am playing The Resistance!

I suggest you take the back off were you can find the battery and then take a look at the screen maybe the screen has just had all it can take? just make sure the screws are in the correct place.

Black Screen on PSP Slim

Hi,

Take out the battery of your PSP, wait 30 seconds and then reinsert it. Then start the PSP up without the charger in it. If the problem still occurs, try holding the brightness button (rectangle icon near select button) for 10 seconds. I hope this works for you.

Psp not working

This problem occurs when there is some problem with the firmware, it can be happen If you turn off the system or remove the memory stick during an update. If an update is cancelled before completion, the system software may become damaged. if so, you''ll have psp with blank on screen. try remove all plugin MS, Umd, etc, then press bright button of psp. if isn't work you need pandora battery to downgrading your firmware. hope this help.
