The last mercedes i helped for this was a different model. but it may help to tell you i had to make a bushing for where the throttle linkage pivots. when a helper depresses the throttle, look to see where you are losing it. some are cable operated. you want the air cleaner removed for access. then operate the throttle by hand. then have a helper depress the pedal. watch the operation. is something disconnected?

Why will my Ryobi 725r weed eater's throttle not respond on no choke but will respond on 1/2 choke?

I would inspect carb and see what the difference is between 1/2 choke and no choke. Set the choke, move the throttle and look into carb- doesnt need to be running. Sounds like something is still restricting airflow at no choke.

I have an 06 cobalt and recently my car started to suddenly lose power while driving. It says reduce engine power when this happens. If I turn the car off for a minute it'll go away.

This has nothing to do with the Catalytic converter ! Plugged catalytic converters don't go away after shutting off the vehicle !
This reduced engine power has to do with the
Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System
Reduced Engine Power Mode When the ECM detects a condition with the TAC system, the ECM may enter a reduced engine power mode. Reduced engine power may cause one or more of the following conditions:
?€¢
Acceleration limiting--The ECM will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the vehicle acceleration is limited.

?€¢
Limited throttle mode--The ECM will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the maximum throttle opening is limited.

?€¢
Throttle default mode--The ECM will turn off the throttle actuator motor and the throttle will return to the spring loaded default position.

?€¢
Forced idle mode--The ECM will perform the following actions:

-
Limit engine speed to idle by positioning the throttle position, or by controlling the fuel and spark if the throttle is turned off.

-
Ignore the accelerator pedal input.

?€¢
Engine shutdown mode--The ECM will disable fuel and de-energize the throttle actuator.

I have a 2001 passat , 1.8 turbo (petrol) , automatic. recently the car lost power while driving. the car continued to idle but when i press the accelerator nothing happened. it just kept on idling. l

2001, is most likely drive by cable. check the plastic clips at the throttle body and the gas pedal. They break. If it was drive by wire. it would have thrown a code. You can't buy the clips. replace the cable

My 2000 GMC/jimmy suv starts up but doesn't respond or rev up whenI push the accelerator pedal

Look for where the throttle cable connects at the throttle body. If you can move the throttle plate here and get the engine to respond, then the cable is either broken or disconnected at one end or the other. Any other situation doesn't seem likely.

Engine starting problem.

run the fault codes
indicates an idle control sensor or other throttle / accelerator sensors

Jetta 2005, gas pedal not responding,,sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesnt. Usually happens when the car is warm.

This is a "Drive by wire" car on the throttle. There is no accelerator cable, it has an electrical sensor that tells the engine computer when you accelerate.

Sounds like the sensor is going bad. Take it to a shop and get it replaced.
