Battery are charged but won't turn on and it in lock mode

Regarding your question you could try a power discharge for your device:
- disconnect the AC adapter
- unplug the battery (if detachable)
- press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds (to discharge the components)
- plug the AC adapter only (without the battery if it is detachable)
- turn on the unit

If the battery is not detachable, please follow the procedure with the battery attatched.

- turn off the unit
- disconnect the AC adapter
- press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds (to discharge the components)
- plug the AC adapter
- turn on the unit

Is my Asus Eeepc 701 with Linux OS and Firefox Browser compatible with a wireless N Wifi router?

If you're thinking of buying a N router, it should also say somewhere 'a/b/g/n'. The different letters are different variants of wifi and the router page will show which is supported (if it is an N router, it will most certainly support the others). The eeepc 701 can only use wifi of a/b/g, meaning that, although it can use the lower variants supported by the N router, the actual N variant that you're paying for is redundant. With this in mind, I recommend that (unless you have another computer with N capabilities) you save your money and buy a router without N, it is probably cheaper.

Cannot connect to the internet either with cable or wifi

i guess you already know the default OS is Xandros, this is a custom OS specially designed for the eeepc, this distro is not faultless and its been said the slimmed version of mint is the best OS .However your best bet is to try a manual configuration from the command line, you bring the current interface down ,then adjust it then set it up again with a set of command line instructions--advise searching through relevant distro commands for this maybe at the library

Did update bios..then computer died.no display no boot up.led for power on led for wifi on . asus eeepc 2g surf

This one could be a number of issues. when it comes to updating bios. If the incorrect file was used, it may have reprogrammed and errored out internally. if you have or want to try, one may suggest taking the battery out AND disconnecting the BIOS battery. while i dont know the exact specs on this model you may or may not have to open it up. I dont know the status of your warranty, if your OUT OF WARRANTY then try removing main battery and CMOS battery let laptop sit for about 24 hours for the capacitors to loose charge and then try putting both batteries back in place. and try it, If still nothing you may want to contact asus, about one if you feel comfortable and if its a removeable bios chip then you could order a new chip from ASUS, now if its not removable but board mounted then you may have to send it in for service at cost.
