Can i control my d12 300 with my pv-h2000 serial port?
My satellite box (d12 300) has a usb port. my dvr (pv-h300) has a serial port. Is there an adapter that will work between them? Would I be better off getting a different satellite box? If so which boxes work with my current card and my dvr?

Things to consider.
If using a VOIP system (via router) please consult your provider for the port(s) you should have open.
Some features are enabled on the system management page.
If you are using a tradition phone line, first consult your manual then your provider.
Hope this helps

Click "Start" button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter". Click "Continue" if necessary.
In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Remember the help below is only a fix for seeing the error message not for overdrawing the port.
To stop overdrawing the port you need to either use a power supply or a double USB cable.
To prevent seeing the USB Power Surge alert message, complete the following steps:
Click on START, Click on CONTROL PANEL, Double-click on the SYSTEM icon,Click on the HARDWARE tab,Click the DEVICE MANAGER button, Click the "+" next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the selection.,Right-click and select PROPERTIES on the Intel® USB UNIVERSAL HOST CONTROLLER (not the USB Root Hub),Click the ADVANCED Tab, Check the box that says:"Don't tell me about USB errors"

After digging around for awhile, the only onfo I could gather was that teh D12 uses the same codes as the D10 & D11, but could not get those codes, I am still looking around and will post any other info I may aquire. I would also suggest re-trying any codes for echostar. I can tell you this as I sell that equipment in my market and echostar provides the equipment and support for techs, installers, and retailers.
Anyway Good Luck for now
