Cannot install access point dwl 2100

Does the non wifi modem give out DHCP addresses?
Can the wifi modem be set up to receive it's IP address from DHCP?
If the answer to both these questions is Yes then that's what to do as a first step. Make sure the wifi modem DHCP service is disabled as it must NOT give out DHCP addresses.
Connect the ethernet port of the non wifi modem to one of the LAN ports of the wifi modem and NOT the DSL/WAN port. The wifi modem is not participating in any DSL connectivity at all so it's DSL light will remain off. The non wifi modem is doing the DSL duty so it's DSL light should be correctly illuminated.

Does you computer have a Wireless N adapter? Most new computers do. You will benefit from a N Wireless Access Point. If you go with the Name brands D-Link, NetGear, Linksys, many,many more: Look and compare, Consider a Dual-Band, 2.4 and 5 Ghz signal. It's difficult for me to say what you want or need, do some research, consider your needs, price, easy of install and operation, support, range, etc. If you get to many "bells and whistles" it's may be a pain for you to setup and maintain, maybe not? Not only does Wi-Fi have to be on, but it has to be connected to a wireless access point (sometimes called a wireless router), and the wireless access point has to be properly connected to the internet.If the wireless access point/router has empty ports on it, plug your computer into one of those ports, and see if you can connect to ther internet then. If you can, the problem is somewhere between the wireless access point/router and the computer. Could be the transmitter part of the wireless router, could be the wireless network adapter on your computer, or could be the driver that runs the wireless adapter on the computer. If you cannot access the internet when you plug into the wireless ap/router, then you need to go one step "upstream." This would likely be the cable modem or DSL modem. Plug directly into that with your computer, and reboot both the modem and the computer (just unplug the power from the modem and then plug it back in to reboot the modem). If you can connect to the internet then, the problem is the wireless router/ap. If you cannot connect to the internet then, contact your ISP.

According to connection of wi-fi and stc modem you must configure the wi-fi access point and must provide the password wi-fi access point is connecting through it.Then you will be able to connect modem to it.

if your yousing router and your windows is crupet no metter with your modem setings it will ther becoz your setings will be in your modem only not in pc

if your using with dailup conection then only it will sak u user name and password only

You can secure your wireless network wit WEP or WAP code.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on wireless settings then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.
Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code.

This problem occurs because of DHCP issue in router.
Your computer not get proper ip for connect network.
For that first reset router to defaults.
Press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router.
Then connect router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then you can see configuration of your router.
Set WAN settings as your internet service provider settings.
Enable DHCP in advanced.
click on wireless or wi fi menu and enable wi fi .
Enable WEP or WAP security if you want to secure then add key it is your password to connect internet.
Then save and restart router then check.

The 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi networking standards are generally compatible. An 802.11b router / access point will work with 802.11g network adapters and vice versa.
There is no such conflict reported with the above devices. But as suggestion use an 802.11g wireless card with the Bell as it would give you better performance

well that was easy, you havent detailed any problems to rectify.
assuming there is a connectivity problem sharing the broadband connection,
buy a cheap router, or switch, and install between the cable modem and all 4 pcs
