I checked sleep mode and nothing was programmed.....wasn't able to check timer as time had not been set so I don't think that was the problem. tv is near a gas fireplace but not direct heat - do you think it could be a heat sensor thing? ,

I have the same problem but the set was only 7 days old so still under warranty. Panasonic set me up with a local authorized service person. He called and after listening to my description (10 led blinks) said he would order parts. Took a week for the parts to arrive. They were the wrong parts; seems my set is an "A" varient so he ordered new parts. One more week passed and he said Panasonic had decided to replace the set and he was waiting for them to send him the new set and he would try to get me a loaner. Five days later he brought a loaner and took bad set away. Two+ weeks have now pasted. I'm still waiting for the new TV.

TH-42PX80U has same issue. If the set has HDMI 1 or 2 selected as the input during power-up and the HDMI device is turned on, it trips some kind of breaker and causes the power light to flash 10 times.

The work-around has been to unplug the HDMI, then push and hold the power button for 10 seconds or so. After the set is powered up, plug the HDMI back in.

I had 8 blink on panasonic th-42pz80u. I replaces power board and ss board but still get 8 blinks. What couls happen to the othe boards? Please help.

Hi Ha Phan.
When working inside of a TV be very careful about what you touch, Electrocution could result, unless you are familiar with electronics. They can hold deadly HIGH voltages, even when unplugged for days. Here is a link with a flow chart that can help you troubleshoot your TV. Some steps require a Multimeter to test voltages. You can even download the manual if you want. Hope this helps.

Panasonic tv viera

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

Panasonic th-42pz80u...dead set...red LED blinks twice at turn-on...the 15v supply on pin 1 of P7 comes up for a second then shuts down

I'm no expert but I have the same tv I'm trying to fix, different problem from yours.I think you can take a resistance reading from that pin to ground and if there is a short, you can start unplugging different boards and when you have the right one the short will go away,if not its the power supply.Put in a search on google with something like board layout for TH-42PZ80U and click on the link 11th generation and you can tell if I told you right or not

Hi Is it possible for you, send to me the part number of power supply of my Panasonic TV #TH-42PZ80U?

Hi,
You may view the part no. at this LINK. It is advisable to get the actual part no. listed on the power supply board itself because there some version made by the manufacturer.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

The pictures are mostly green - like instead of black it shows green

It's called Cyan and it's sound like you are having a problem on your D-board. Look for capacitors bulging out and replace first if not then order D-board

Solid black stripe down the left side of my TH-42PZ80U...I called service and they said to hold the Volume all the way down and then press menu at the same time to go into "Self Check" mode...It did...

Hold it all day it wont fix it!.Are you sure a Panasonic tech said this?

the problem is an IC chip that is faulty.
The only other possibility is that if you moved the TV recently you may have twisted or jolted one of the ribbon cables loose.

The last problem can be fixed by checking the ribbon cables are all on firmly when you open the panel up.
The first suggestion requires a return for service. If the unit is under warranty claim it now.
