Slow pc. may have virus?

Do you have an anti virus installed in your computer? If you have one, then run an anti-virus scan in your computer.

The problem seems virus related.

If your anti virus can't fix the problem, then you need to clean reinstall the whole operating system to get rid of the virus.

I hope this helps!

My computer keeps freezing up in the middle of sites that I'm on. Can you advise me as to how to correct it?

Sounds like you might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:
http://majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_TDSSKiller_d6895.html

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:
http://majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
http://majorgeeks.com/Avira_AntiVir_Personal_-_FREE_Antivirus_d955.html
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira.

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs..

If i have a virus on my computer and I format my C drive..that might help to get rid of it right?

You are right, but if it didn't infect only your C drive, then you are still not 100% secured and cleaned. I would suggest you to run full system scan using an updated antivirus program. There are many free antivirus programs which are very effective. You can try Avira Free (click HERE to download). Scanning will take time, but it's better to waste time than wasting data and having a virus infected computer.
Hope this helps.

Good Luck.

I have a problem about the viruses attacked on my computer. Trojan, Worms which avast, avg, or other computer could not remove this viruses. My computer Brand; AMD, Dual core processor. Last year this...

I suggest search for SpyBot Search & Destroy & Malwarebytes' anti-malware, Also Download CCleaner. All of these will have a free version available. Install these programs & then update them while you have an internet connection. Then reboot into safe mode, for most computers press Start / turn off computer / restart - as soon as computer boots press F8 & pick safe mode from the presented list. Once in safe mode start spybot search & destroy and follow the directions to begin the scan. Once completed do the same for Malwarebytes' anti-malware. Now reboot into Normal windows. Then run the CCleaner Program. The first Tab on the left reads "cleaner" and has a brush on it. Select that tab, on the bottom right click run cleaner. when that finishes select Registry Tab on the left. then select Scan for issues. When scan has finished select "fix selected issues" it will ask you if you want to backup Registry, say no, then press fix issues, then close. Run registry cleaner till nothing else shows up. This will fix your issue 99% of the time. If all that does not work then you are at a worse case scenario. Boot from your windows DVD & under the install look for a drive options. You want to delete the partition on your hard drive. Yes that kills the virus, as well as everything else on the computer so it really is worse case fix. Once the partition is gone power off the computer. Physically unplug the power from the unit then walk away for a minute. After your one minute wait plug it back in, reinstall windows from your DVD & you will have no virus

When plugging in any device through one of the 3 usb ports (with the exception of mouse, printer & external Hard drive) ie. usb stick, mobile telephone, cd.. the laptop freezes and becomes...

I would suggest that you do a full scan for viruses and malware. Malware Bytes is a good tool to use for that, download it here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php. Also, do a virus check, some viruses try to stop you from plugging in external devices that may have anti virus software to combat the virus.

I would also suggest that you check you memory usage to make sure the your not running out of memory when trying to use these devices.

Another option is that your operating system files have been corrupted. Can you give me the model of compaq notebook that we are talking about?

Its freezing its slow

You probably have a virus on your system. You will need to install an antivirus. I suggest Avast as it is free and will do a boot time scan. It will get rid of your viruses and your computer should start to run faster.
