I would stay away from fujitsu hard drives. They are complete trash. I would stick with either Seagate Western Digital or IBM. I have the hitachi that came with the machine and although it is slow it still works after over 10 years. I would like to know more about your situation if you need help installing it tell me what it is doing.
I am running a Armada M700 with a Hitachi HTS541060G9AT00 60GB Hard Drive - Ultra ATA-100, 5400 RPM, 8MB. The driver that is loaded in mine is on both primary and secondary is atapi.sys. This driver is also installed on the Intel 82371AB/EB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller, along with intelide.sys. The main difference is I am running Window XP Pro SP2. But I believe that they should use the same driver.
Hope this helps.

Try this: Remove the power adapter and battery from the laptop. Press and hold the power button for up to one minute to discharge the laptop. Try starting it.
Try to find a boot CD .Put that CD and try to start you computer and see it work or not.Incase it doesn't ,that mean you have a bad CDROM,you've to replace with the new one then.
