The fins can be easily removed to transporting the paddle board, however they are used for navigation of the water so you should not try to paddle board without the fins attached.

Do you need to have waves to paddle board?

No actually it is better to paddle board on less choppy water and flat water is preferred when beginning to practice your skills.

Is it better to have a board with attached fins or ones that I can remove?

That depends on two factors. You have to determine if you want a different type of board for each different type of wave so that you can cater the board to the wave. Also, if you are travelling a lot to different surf destinations, I suggest getter a board with removable fins because it is less likely to get damages under the plane and you can store the extra fins in your luggage.

A/c not blowing through vent only defrost and floor.what to look for fix. thank you

GM used an electronic air door actuator on many models to direct the heat and AC for defrost, floor, dash vents, etc. The actuator, which is a small stepper motor attached to a plastic paddle or fin, gets weak with age and use, and the paddle itself can bind or jam. The part is under/behind the dash, and in most cases involves removing the radio, climate control unit, and several plastic panels to access. Allow 3-4 hrs minimum if you have not replaced one before.

Fin inside came off

remove toe kick panel screws by the floor and lift upward on front cover and pull upward to remove like lifting a car hood, then there are screws just inside the bottom side of the top cover, remove these and tip top back and secure top as to not break off electrical connections off control panel, then you can access the screws for the paddle fins to re-secure to the drum,if they're oblong from wear and tear either replace or fill the hole with a cement for this purpose and put in 2 match stick pieces (quickly)before glue sets and this will take up slack and seize paddle screw all in one
