Ftw3011kwo My washer fills and drains, but stops working in any other cycle. Before this started happening, there was a sediment problem that caused it to fill incredibly slow, so we cleaned out the water inlets and had a filter installed on our well intake (keeping the pressure appropriate for the washer). Being impatient, though, I would often change the cycle on the dial if say, the rinse on the "whites" setting wasn't filling it fast enough, I'd switch to the rinse cycled on another setting. Thus, I am not sure if in doing that, I messed up the timer or something, or if its a lid-switch issue. Now,

SOURCE: Whirlpool filling and washing, not draining, rinsing or spinning

Check out your outlet filter, probable it is clogged. Clean this out and refit. Most cases when the drain or spin does not work, it is the filter. This is a suggestion.

SOURCE: washer fills up than starts draining while in wash cycle

Hello , here is the fix-your drain hose is placed to low in the drain line in the wall, it can not be placed in water or it will siphon the water out of your washer into the drain pipe and it wont stop until it hits air. try pulling your drain hose up and out of the drain and get a zip tie or cable and tie it to one of the water valves by the drain pipe placing the end of the drain hose about 5-6 inches inside the drain pipe. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck it will work.

SOURCE: Agitator starts at begining of cycle before washer is full

Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

SOURCE: when starting the wash or rinse cycle, the washer

Assuming the motor isn’t running during fill the water is siphoning out and can be caused by a few things.

  • The drainpipe to your house may be too low and you either need to extend the pipe up above the top of the tub or run the drain hose from your washer up high.
  • Someone may have taped the drain hose from the washer to the drainpipe to your house to stop the water from backing up. To fix this either clean out the drainpipe to your house and remove the tape or install a siphon break.
  • If the drain hose from your washer is pushed down the drainpipe too far, this will also cause the same problem. To fix it just pull it out to within about 6 inches of the end of the drainpipe.

Washer just shuts down

If the washer is turning off mid cycle then the problem most likely has something to do with the draining or the filling.

First check the drain hose is not to far down the standpipe. If it is to far down then the water might siphon out during fill. The water would fill and drain at the same time. One cycle I would like you to try is the "Rinse Only" cycle. This is a simple, short cycle that should just fill once, drain and spin. If the washer will do this then the major components are most likely okay.

Make sure the water drains out and let me know if the drain pump is the source of the noise you hear.

Whirlpool washer WTW57ESVW0 won't fill with water. I bought this machine two months ago was working fine and then just stopped filling water. Spin cycle and drain cycle work but it won't start fill...

Solution for WTW57ESVW0 Whirlpool Washer that won't fill or agitate, but will spin and drain water.

Replacing the Auto Load Sensing Switch (W10177795 - Illus. No. 12 on Control and Rear Panel Parts) fixed the problem.

In addition, a defective switch can also cause the machine to start agitating while it is filling.

It is relatively easy to replace and there are online videos that can help with the replacement.

It needs replacing.

There is a screen filter in the water supply hose that may need cleaning. A recurring problem like yours is usually caused by sediment in the water which prevents the valve from closing. It's usually just the cold water side because the hot water has a chance to settle before being used. . Being on a well water system or a system where the pipes have been disturbed from repair or construction can cause extra sediment.

Washer fills with water when not being used have to run drain cycle the start a load

The water inlet valve where the water hoses connect to the washer is probably leaking. It's usually the cold water. The valve will get stopped up with sediment preventing it from closing all the way. You may can clean it out or just replace the valve.

Top loaing washer fills then mostly empties repeatedly

Check you drain line. It may be too low or the air gap is blocked at the drain pipe.
A test is remove the drain pipe from the wall drain. Hold it up high and turn the washer on to fill.
If it fills and stops, then starts agitation. Repair the drain hose.

Whirlpool Washer - Imperial Series Quiet Wash 2

your washers drain hose is too far down the drain pipe which is causing a siphoning action pull the washers drain hose out pipe some you should be able to hear water dropping into the pipe the reason it only happens in the rinse cycle is because the water from wash is being drained and before the water vacuum is broken the rinse water comes in causing it to keep draining
