only update if it offers new features, such as faster CPU or newer memory upgrades
do not ever upgrade any sick PC or it bricks.

also the BIOS files must match you exact PC, and country
or again you brick the PC.

Hi,
As the computer restarts hit F8 and boot into safe mode, if you can get the machine into safe mode then perform a system restore as i expect an update for a driver is conflicting.
Take the machine back to a date before this happened. If the restore was successful and you may think that Microsoft Update was responsible for the system crash it would be a good idea to disable your automatic updates altogether.

Hi there.
After using killcmos you should have updated the bios straight away, this is because you have wiped all the bios settings. As soon as you restarted the laptop you effectively killed the computer, getting it recovered can now prove near impossible. The only option you have left now is to locate the bios battery, remove it for an hour to see if the bios resets, other than that Acer may be able to help.

Mike:   Look in your manual to see how to get to the BIOS setup screen. Find the BIOS shadowing or catching and shut it off.    If you need a manual download it. If you cannot get it going again, doing that . Try using the reload CD's. If you don't have one ,again look in the book and see if it is on the hard drive or wher.e If you need additional help, just ask.

If you have a known brand name video adapter, you can attempt to update from their site rather then the Toshiba Site, but I cannot guarantee that it will work since laptop graphics chips have custom drivers made that will not work with generic drivers

Thats an old pc and flashing the bios (if not done right) could kill your pc..... with it bein so old and computers now being so cheap your best bet is to invest in a new computer. I have looked for your bios update with no luck either.

trying defulting bios for the new chip maby chip not full compatible with your mobo u can do a bios serch online type in your model # of mobo asus ## or ect

Check the brushes in the motor. They've probably worn down and need replacing.
