I had the same problem. I hooked up the DVD player and then got into the set up. I used the add/erase feature to go through all of the channels. At channel 91, I saw the logo for the dvd player. I added that channel and now the dvd player works.
Depending on the model of the tv, you could scroll ch dn past ch 2 and you should cycle through your inputs. if that doesn't work try holding down the two vol buttons on the tv. that could access the menu for the tv

You are trying to connect the TV by AV setup. You have to select the input selection to TV to AV. If the TV have a Menu button on its front panel, you can enter into its menu options, surf through, and select the input selection window. Here you can select input to AV. If there is no 'Menu' button on the front panel of the TV, you can'd do this selction. You must have its remote control to select this option.
Hello If the TV has a "Menu" button at its front panel, you can select its menu, and can select the input selection. If not, you can't do with wthout a remote control. Just buy an RCA universal remote control. If there is no Menu Button at the front panel of the tV, there is no other way to get AV selection to your TV. OK.
Try to see if any of these four methods will work. Sanyo TVs 1. Press VIDEO MODE or TV/VIDEO button in front panel or on remote 2. I'm assuming that you do not have access to the remote for the TV. If you do, you can simply press "INPUT" on the remote.
If you have no remote, try this: Press the "MENU" button on the TV. Press "CH Down" until "Channel" is highlighted, and "MENU" to select it. Press "CH Down" to highlight "List and Labels", and "MENU" to select it. Press "CH Down" to go below channel 1, you should see "FRNT" displayed. Press "MENU" to get out of the Menu system. You should now be seeing whatever is plugged into your front connectors.
Simply pressing one of the channel buttons will switch back to normal TV mode. I could find no faster way to access the front connectors without using the remote.
I have tried to post solutions, but they seem to be too long, so I will have to post more than once to get the info to you.
