SOURCE: macbook pro start up problem

First remove the battery, then plug it into your AC adapter. Hold the power button for 5 seconds or until you either hear and beep or the activity light on the front of your laptop lights up. Start up normally.

My zoom g1xn suddenly stopped working. When i connect the power source, it doesn't turn on. . . When i tried batteries, i turned on but the display was flickering then it turned off. . . What is wrong?

Try another cord/charger. Check the AC jack in the machine. Is the battery charging with the cord/charger plug in? Has the laptop AC jack been pulled by the cord? Damaged?

How can I tell if a power surge hit my laptop and ruined it? I can't even get it to boot up

It could either be that the motherboard is fried or the Hard drive has just gotten slightly corrupted. If you have the Windows install disk that came with it you could boot that up and then go into repair mode (press R) and then run "chkdsk /r" this would fix a hard drive issue. However if your laptop will not turn on at all when you press the power button then it is likely dead.

Verbatim usb500 Question? My macbook can't read it anymore?

If the drive did not actually fall, there is a good chance you just damaged the USB port. The jolt could have detached it from the circuit board. The case holds a normal hard drive and can be removed and placed within another case or a dock.

External Hard Disk Drives
HDD Docking Station eBay

External hard drives come in 2 sizes, 2.5" and 3.5". If you get the case be sure you get the right size. The dock accepts both sizes.

How do I fix the constant flickering of the screen?

Hello,

Take the lcd assembly apart, and disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable on the back of the lcd. Also disconnect and reconnect the other end of that cable. If that doesn't fix it, disconnect and reconnect both cables that go to the inverter board (it's the small circuit board inside the lcd assembly- example in picture below). If still no good, then you probably need a new inverter board. Call HP and get a phone number for one of their parts suppliers. Inverter boards are cheap ($10-$20). Even if it doesn't fix it, it doesn't cost much to try. If still no good, then take it to a service shop.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Did you happen to drop it accidentally? Or accidentally applied force into your camera? If yes, then there is big chance you will gonna have to replace the whole lens! If not, then it might just be dirt stuck inside your lens mechanism. To fix it, hold your camera with the lens facing the ground. Then, tap your camera repeatedly. Start with light tapping to moderate. If that doesn't work, spray condensed air directly into the lens part of your camera.

2002 mercury montaineer , battery light comes on , they gages shut down couple minutes after then the truck acts like it gonna shut off....when getting a jump, the truck fires right up, couple minutes...

Your battery is definitely low. First clean the terminals on the battery and the inside of the terminal rings on the wires. If you have a slow charger put it on that overnight and see if it holds a charge. If it still keeps depleting or doesn't charge overnight then either your battery or your alternator are done....possibly both. So take the battery to have it load tested. Most places that sell them can test them. If the battery is done replace it then test the battery with a volt meter. If the old battery is still good put it back in the vehicle and test the voltage with a volt meter. With the engine off the voltage should read 12 volts (once its fully charged or if its new) with the engine running it should read around 14 volts. If it is way higher than that or it doesn't go up at all your alternator requires replacing. Alternators are fairly easy to replace but if you don't feel comfortable with that take it in to a mechanic.

The picture on my 2 yr old Toshiba 42hm66 DLP tv starts flickering and with alot of rainbow looking distortion after an hour of veiwing. I replaced the lamp, but it sill has the probelm. Any idea what...

I hope this helps you but you might wanna look into some other posts too cause it goes farther then the lamps and color wheels. Basically it's a bad product and the consumer should be fixing it. But your problem seems to be the color wheel. Or just a good cleaning. We replaced the lamb in ours and still had a color problem. We're gonna do an exstensive cleaning and dusting of our unit and if it don't work. We're going straight to the manufactor. This is enough with this product! It's costly to repair and still don't have the quality picture it should. It's more then a simple fix and too costly for ppl to just fix and move on. For how old these products are this all should not be happening.

Right side of screen flickering (top to bottom)

Your laptop screen has a thin ribbon connecting the screen to the mainboard. after upening and closing your screem these pins sometimes breaks causeings streaks in your screen. My compaq note book has to be resoldered because of a lose connection on back for power. your gonna want to get that fixed before you fry your board. costs about 50 bucks for an hours work to get that solderd. It could be linked to your flikering issue..

Can I fix this???

Hi,
if that is the case, then there is indeed a short on the ac port (thats where you plug in the charger.) that's the reason why the charger light goes off as soon as you plug it in to the back of the computer. I know its gonna cost you a lot since the only way if fixing this is to replace the motherboard. if its gonna cost you $500 + then better buy a new one. they're gonna replace it with a refurbished motherboard anyways.

Hope this helps.

thanks.
