I have an Aspire 5610 lap top and wish to know how to perform a destructive reboot, many thanks

Why do you want to do a destructive reboot? What is the main problem - Viruses
Low level format from the bios or depending on your laptop, by pressing one of the F keys will go into recovery mode. This will wipe everything and reinstall everything.
Hope this helps

ThinkPad T20 2647 PC Notebook: The lap top will not boot. It's a thinkpad T20...

Hi, During the boot at the THINKPAD SCREEN press the Thinkvantage key ( Blue button ) it will launch rescue and recovery and allow you to reboot factory. This only works if you did not corrupted/deleted the rescue and recovery hidden partition on the HDD. Otherwise you will need the rescue and recovery CD to proceed. IBM/Lenovo support should be able to provide you the CD. Might be a defective hdd aswell, in this case to make sure you can run a DFT test, www.google.com -> Look up for " Test DFT " ( Drive fitness tool from hitachi, will make an hardware diag if hdd failure - error code 0x00 = everything fine, other code = Issue - You can look up for accurate code explanation on hitachi website ) thanks and have a nice day J-

Erroe while i try to recovery my lap-top

I am assuming you are trying to reinstall Vista. Apparently, HP's recovery partition is less than perfect and the recovery disc you created is probably worthless. (and you can NOT make another one, they only let you make one!) You are not the only person to have this issue.

Here are some things you can try:
1) Borrow an OEM version of Vista from someone...anyone. It sounds like you are proficient with PC's and maybe you know someone who works in IT. Use your product key (25 digit key code) and you should be able to reinstall.

2) if you like Vista, buy yourself an OEM version. It will not have all the factory (HP, Dell, Acer, whatever) BS on it. It will positively work because your hardware if fine.

3) Put XP on it. Personally, I think Vista is a mess. Microsoft is working on "OS7" and soon Vista will be like "Millennium".

Sorry it's not an easy fix, but glad your hard drive and memory show no errors.

Whean windows open, they was stock, freaze,i try reinstal windows and when deleting files stop responding on 7% about,i did restart, after restart screan going totaly black,.Any body help please: lap top Sony...

Hi,
I think your laptop is now really messed up and you will need to restore to factoy settings.
I hope you created the Recovery CD/DVD set with the Recovery Wizard when you
first set up your computer, you can restore to factory default settings by
setting up your BIOS (press F2 at the VAIO logo when you first start up) to
boot to the CD-ROM/DVD drive first. Then boot with the Recovery Startup CD.
Choose the option to perform a complete recovery

Follow the prompts to insert the various Recovery CDs/DVDs as needed.
As this action will format the drives again, I hope you have made a backup of your data.

If you failed to create the Recovery CD/DVD set you need to
purchase a proper recovery set from Sony.

The recovery disc will do the deleting for you. Make sure you've got all of your data off before running it.

Post back if you have issues during or after the restore process.
