My Tour de France stationary bike is having the same problem. IFit will sell me a new console 500 dollars!! this is a common problem and should be covered.

IF BATTERIES ARE NEW THEN CHECK THE CABLE AND CONNECTION FROM BATTERIES TO THE CONSOLE.MAKE SURE ALL CONNECTION ARE TIGHT AND CABLES ARE NOT BROKEN,FRAYED,CRACKED,OR CORRODED LOOKING.ALSO MAKE SURE SAFETY DEVICES(KEYS,PINS,CLIPS) ARE IN PLACE .

Simply pull the indicator module straight up out of its plastic holder. No screws are attached. With a thin flat screwdriver pry open the bottom off the module. Insert 2 AAA batteries. Reassemble.

just move the gear levers, but keep pedalling forward while you do. you cannot change gears while the bike is stationary and do not pedal backwards while changing

There are most likely some sort of bearings inside the wheel hub that are causing this.
