With some songs when I try to put them onto my c240 series from my computer, they won't sync. They display a message that says I need to update the clock on my device before I can continue. How do I get my device's clock updated?

You can't "backwards sync" (put music from your iPod back onto your computer) through iTunes. When you went to sync after you got your fixed computer back, I'm assuming iTunes tried to copy what was in iTunes (nothing) to your iPod, which probably is what caused these problems.
Assuming you still have the music on your iPod, I would recommend transferring the music from your iPod back to your computer (to a folder other than iTunes), restoring your iPod to factory settings, then moving all of the music files into iTunes and re-syncing your iPod.
There are two programs that are available to transfer songs from your
iPod back onto your computer. The first is iDump and the second is
YamiPod. I have found that iDump is the better of the two.
The link for iDump is: iDump
If you plug the player into a USB port, it should appear in My Computer. Open it and drag and drop the songs into it. If you have a microSD card fitted that will show up as well. Think of it as just another thumb drive.
You can also put songs on a microSD card using a card reader, and plug it into your player.
There are software utilities that will automatically update your player's contents, but i have never looked at them, having found the above two methods sufficient.
I'm assuming you have the Zune software installed. You'll need the software in order to interact with the Zune device, it does not work as a "mass-storage device" like some other media players.
The Zune software will find all your music. Open the software and on the top left make sure you're in the "Collection" and then "Music" category. Then click on the right hand side on the "Songs" tab. You'll see all your songs on your computer. Connect the Zune and wait a few seconds and in the bottom left hand corner of the software you'll see your device connected.
Click on one of the songs and then press "CTRL + A" and all of your songs will be selected. Click and hold and then drag one of the songs to the little icon of your Zune in the bottom left and then all of your music will sync to the device.
Hope this helps.
I'm not sure what you are asking, but maybe my experience can help you. I was using Windows 2000 (it has no DRM) and the Sansa C240 was displayed in Windows Explorer like a removable drive. I could copy and delete files in Windows Explorer. I switched to Windows XP and when I connected the C240, no files were displayed for it in Windows Explorer. I realized that XP had DRM and all the media files had to be transfered with Windows Media Player. When I opened WMP, it recognized the C240, but it didn't list any of the mp3 files I had already loaded on the C240. WMP asked if I wanted to delete all the media currently on the C240, but I clicked No. After that, WMP worked like the old files didn't exist. It would only delete files that had been copied to the C240 when it was synced. I would recommend that you use Windows Media Player (or WinAmp) to delete all old media files on the C240 and use the sync button to copy and delete files from the C240. See Windows Media Player help for details.
You start with a USB cable, and connect your MP3 player to youre computer with it.
Then, you need to go to a site like Itunes and download songs. Once you download songs to your computer go to windows media player, and then go to "sync" you can then put your songs on from there.
hi :)
well, that's creepy. I bought a new computer some months ago and I did the exact thing as you with my ipod.
when I can't sync songs on to my ipod, it may be the song is not supported on you ipod.
hope this helps and good luck :)
In your windowsmedia you will see the device name listed..you have to make sure the device is under MTP mode..then click on the player and you will see all the songs...you can just right click on the songs and delete them..if you dont want the device to sync automatically you can click on sync and then click on the device name and click on sync setting..there you can modify if you want it to sync automatically.. Should you have any questions..let me know.. P.S.Please rate accordingly... Thank You Computerrep
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

I would wait for the writing message to go away before disconnecting the player - this is the standard message it will give you when you are transferring songs to the player. If it still says writing after 5 minutes (this is assuming you are not trying to load more than 20 songs at once), then you might have a real problem.
Make sure the files you are trying to load do not have DRM encryption on them, and also make sure they are in mp3 or wma format.
If you have Windows Media Player 11:
Quick Method 1 - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player.
Quick Method 2 - Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx
