My whirpool ultimate care II is driving me crazy.I replaced th lid starter thing myself. But heres the problem:
The washer will wash but at the spin cycle it will spin slower than normal and shoot out some water at the beginning of final spin. At the end of the spinning water will then come back up from the bottom of the machine soaking all the clothes on the bottom.. Hope you can help.

aborcass, the hose is attached at the bottom left of the machine and the the other end curves and is placed into a hose drain that does into the wall . So does this mean I need another hose or another place besides the on in the wall? Sorry to be such a bugg

  • sunflower650 Jan 24, 2009

you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I appreciate your help. Is there a certain check valve i need or do i just go to the store and ask for a check valve for a washining machine. Will there be directions on installing that too. Just want to make sure you got that the hose from the washine machine is not connected to the hose in the wall(I just place it there and it stays noyhings holding there it hangs. thyanks again

  • sunflower650 Jan 24, 2009

I hope Iam saying this right. It hangs into the little hose thats on the wall. But the two arnt strapped together at all. the washine machine hose just hangs into the little hose that come out of the wall which sits ubove the washine machine.Hope that makes sence.

  • sunflower650 Jan 24, 2009

Me Aain I am so sorry. I just pulled the hose from the washine machine and drained the left over water into a bucket.Iwas wrong about one thing on the wall its not a hose its a black pvc pipe that sicks out about 5 inches from the wall. Hope that helps with you helping me.

  • sunflower650 Jan 24, 2009

and yes the pvc pipe is larger that the hose on the machine. To me it seems as if there not enough sucktion to get all the way up the hose and out through the pvc pipe. Hope that makes sence.

  • sunflower650 Jan 24, 2009

Thats the thing the pvc pipe is not solidley connected to my hose. The hose has a curve on the end and it just sits in the pvc pipe.

  • sunflower650 Jan 24, 2009

Ok Ill try that and let you know. Thank you so much for your time I appriciate it greatley

I am thinking the timer is that possible? If yes can a girl fix it? I did replace the lid starter. Thanks again

  • sunflower650 Jan 26, 2009

hits Tina and I wanted to say thanks for the advice on the hose. I fixed it and now the machine drains. The weird thing is now I got another problem. I went to wash my clothes and the water came in but drained right out with out ever washing the clothes. Do you have any ideas.Iam thinking maybe the timer . If you think that too, Is it easy for a girl to fix and about what on the price. Thank you so much for your time once again. Tina

There was apvc pipe that sat up above the washer in the wall. I changed my hose from going there o another shut outlet towards the bottom of the wall. The water stoped coming back in but now I have the syphone effect going on and no water will stay in the machine.

Ill try,
first off its normal for water to spray in during the final spin( its a spray rinse), as far as the water coming back into your machine after the final spin stops, you have an issue with oyour drain, i would assume that the drain hose is NOT going into a stand pipe"open drain", but instead clamped to another hose leading outside or to a drywell, in which case youll need to install a "one way check valve". whats happening is after the final spin is done al;l the waterin the drain line is reurning back formn the drain hose.Proper insstallation will cure this.
lastly its hard to describe"slower than usual spin" it will progressivly spin faster as moire water is removed form the machine, i wqould rectify the drain issue before i concern my self with this( and make sure you not selecting a :gentle spin" option of coarse... hope this is helpful to you!

not being a bugg, I enojoy doing this for people, not neccessarily a new hose, but you will need to install a "check valve, right where the drain hose, reconnects to the "wall hose" .. the check valve will prevent water from comoing back into your machine, probably under $20 form the hardware store and 15 min to install

well it hangs, but somehow connects to the wall ??? ill assume there is not a pipe inwhich your hose currently attaches.. as far as which one to buy-- well that will dependant upne the size of the drain hose, grab a tape measure and measure the opening to the drain pipe, or even take it with you for proper sizing..as far as directions youll only need to know the direction of flow( an arrow on the sideof valve will dictate that, ifinstalled backwards youll nver be able to drain any water out!

so your saying that you have a hard solid pipe coming from the wall,, and your flexible rubber drain hose is connected directly to it??? in theory a proper drain hose should rest within a loarger drain recepticle, with an opening to allow for air to enter to possible break any siphon/backflow that may occur.NO WORRIES WE"LL GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF!!!!

OK the blck pvc pipe iswhere your hose is sollidly connected, this is the issue, and where you should be installeing the check valve, the black pipe probably runs out to a seperate drry well

hmmmm, you drain hose is somehow allowing expelledwater to return back into your machine, generally the anmount of water in your drainhose is not enoght to begin to "refill"or "pool back into your inner basket, in any case this seems to be happeningso i gues you can install that "check valve on hte lower end of the drain hose closer to the machine itself,

OK, now what your trellingme, is that as soon as the maxhine fills with water, it then drains right out???

This aslo soundslike a drain issue, your somehow are creating a "siphon effect" so that whenthe water enters it cannot stay in machine..i wouldnt expect the timer is the culprit..

what exactly or how wexactly did you wind up repairing the frist issue?

yae thats what i thought!! ok!! now youve went to the other spectrum of drain issues.. you can use the lower drain, line, but there will have to be modifications to do so..the hose must go up, at least 36 inches, and you now may need ot install what they call an "air gap", this will break the "syphon" effect. sorry this is is turning into such a hassle for you

Whirpool Ultimate Care II washer - drips

Your water inlet valve is leaking through. Turn off the water. Remove the hoses from the washer. Clean the sediment screens in the water valve and replace the hose.
If that does not solve the leak through problem, the water inlet valve will have to be replaced.
Use the attached video to show how to access the inside of the washer in the event the water valve needs replacing.

Washing machine stops working

I search in the internet on regards to the problems with the Whirpool Ultimate Care II and found out that many others had the same problem as I did. Some solved this issue replacing the switch, so i decided to do the same.
I opened the machine and saw that the switch was not working properly, it was not doing any contact, so whenever I open or closed the lid, nothing was happening. I did a house fixing, with some duck tape i was able to make the system work, and now the machine is washing everything again.

Remove top of machine, you will find lid switch or 'sensor' there. I would say its faulty ,and needs to be replaced.g,luck.rate me
