I have a Canon Pixma MP 240 printer. It's been out of black ink. I installed a new ink cartridge. Now, there's an "E3" flashing on the screen. And it won't print anything.

Error E3 indicates that there is a paper jam.

Firstly remove the ink cartridge you have just installed and check to see if there are any bits of paper underneath that.

Secondly check the rest of the printer for any jams paying careful attention to any rollers as small bits of paper can get stuck to them.

Fixing a printer paper jam
When working with any printer it's inevitable that you'll encounter a paper jam. Below are the steps you'll want to follow when this occurs.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Inspect the location or tray the printed paper ejects to. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
  3. Remove all paper trays and any paper that may be stuck between the tray and the printer. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
  4. Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
  5. Turn the printer back on. If you continue to receive a printer jam error try repeating the above steps again. If issue still persist and you see no paper that is stuck in the printer it's likely your printer is experiencing another hardware issues and we suggest contacting the printer manufacturer for additional assistance and/or repair.

* To manually remove paper pull on the paper with both hands being careful not to tear the paper while pulling it. If you're unable to get to an edge of the paper that allows you to pull it you may need to manually rotate the gears that feed the paper through the printer.

I have a Pixma IP1700. It will not print and does not feed paper and then rings up the message "remove paper jam push restsrt key. Nothing starts and no paper feeds. There is no papaer jam as no paper was...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First, verify that there is actually no paper jam (open all the doors, take out the paper tray, take out the cartridges and visually inspect). Turn printer off and unplug the printer from all cables (power, USB, etc). Try to hold it upside down and gently shake it so that if there is any paper inside it’s removed. If still it’s not resolved then clean the print head. To clean the print head take a hot water towel with the printer unplugged and the cartridges out, clean it till the time you see there is no ink residue on the towel. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Paper jam it says and there no paper to unjame

Hello there Yes it some times can be the sensor, try this see how you get on first.

You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Under one year old pixma mp150 all in one/ changed ink cartridges/error code E2 / saying no paper ????

I have had a MP 150 Cannon Printer with a E3 paper jam code..when NO visable paper jam is present ! Your No paper problem may be as a result of similar issue due to a small piece of paper stuck in the roller assembly out of sight. TRY this, Turn printer off wait (10 seconds) or more then turn printer back ON and listen for roller assembly to turn the ROLLERS and then FORCE FEED
a sheet of paper into rollers until it PULLS paper through and SEE if any scrap of paper comes out with the sheet !! If this works you should see that it clears the code. and resets your printer.
Let me know if this works. Phil at [email protected]

GOOD LUCK !

My Printer says error code 6A00 What do i do?

Try this especially if the printer had not been used for some time.
Switch it off, open the lid and manually (GENTLY!)slide the cartridge-tray to the left. Then you can see if a piece of paper or ink stucks it. Gently degunk the base pad with a little isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip and ease the mechanism back.

Canon mp 130 paper jamed

Step1
Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
Step
2
Turn off the printer.
Step
3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Step
4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
Step
5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
Step
6
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
Step
7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
Step
8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
Step
9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
