My Maytag A212 Series 2, does not work. It will fill up with water, but will not wash, and go directly to spin cycle. The arm in the middle does not move and doesnt wash the clothes. Can someone help me out
The arm does not move as the program does not engage the WASH cycle and it seems that the program controller unit is a suspect. You can remove the connectors and connections to the controller after noting the details and reset, If the fault repeats then the controller is a suspect. Check motor free movement, check if motor hums, if so check and replace the motor capacitor.

possibly not a machine fault. if drain is connected to sink plumbing, remove the drain hose and see if it pumps out into a bucket.
SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Error COde "nd"
This is now the 3rd time this has happened. The 1st 2 times it cost me ~$100 to have a technician come in and fix.
This time, I did it easily. For my Maytag Neptune washer, I removed the back panel (2 screws). On the bottom tray is the water discharge pump. On the output side of the pump there is a small cavity under the rubber flapper where a nickle fits perfectly. I removed the nickle, reattached the output drain line. started it up ...
and viola! the problem solved.

Possibly Injector / Vacuum break unit has gone bad (mine started spilling water lately, 20 years old). Get a 216201 to replace in your vacuum break, or better (if the machine is older) replace everything from the water valve with a kit: SUB 206680 (INJECTOR HOSE KIT).
Quite easy to get to. Just open front panel (remove two screws at bottom, lift bottom of panel away from machine and swing out. Spring clips at top should release easily. Then remove two bolts that hold top cover down and lift top. Water injector/vacuum break will be at the rear left of the machine. Costs about $40 for the kit. Or $5 for the small rubber part (but I am replacing everything that is pressurized on my machine since it is 20yrs old). -- Kevin

Replace the "water inlet valve" on your machine. If you could post your model number I can point you to the part you need.
