Need to change glass globe in hampton bay fan

I have a hampton bay celing fan model 42-cn, need to change light, i can not remove globe , i have tried to turn counter clockwise without success

    it does not have screws, i believe it is supposed to twist off however is not working

I had the exact same problem. To solve it, I had a friend hold the area of the fan that the globe screws into. I wore rubber dish gloves to get a good grip and pushed up slightly on the globe as I turned counter-clockwise. My friend held the other part and turned clockwise a little as well. It took a lot of pressure for it to finally come loose and then we just turned it about another 90 degrees and the globe slips right out of the groove.

I couldn't believe how hard this was to do.

Loosen the 3 screws around the outside of where the globe fits in.

    If you have the 6" wide globe, it looks like you may have to lift one of the outer rings to release the globe.

There is nothing standard on a fan. If the fan came with the light, then you'll have to contact Hampton Bay(Good luck). That's just a low-end fan made for Home depot.

It twists off counterclock wise. If that doesn't work, try spraying some WD-40 around the glass. Wipe off excess oil.

We purchased a Hampton Bay Southwind V Celing Fan from Home Depot and the glass globe over the light bulb was cracked. Where can we get a replacement? We can't find the information that was in the box.
You can find a replacement at Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot.

Go to any of the above websites and run a search by entering "light kit replacement glass", or just plain "globe". It should cost between $ 3.50 - $10

Hampton Bay is an exclusive brand to Home Depot. They have replacement globes in their fan section. or you could try a lighting store or Lowes.

We have a hampton bay ceiling fan model 54cvt. We cant figure out how to change the light bulb or change the direction of the blades. We dont have a manual for the fan.
This fan is also known as the Hampton Bay Covington 54 Ceiling Fan. You need to turn the globe anti clockwise until it comes out. The full instruction manual can be found here.

Have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't work.
I'm pretty sure that home depot does sell remotes for that brand, although you may have to buy a new receiver to go with it. Otherwise try a lighting store near where you live. They seem to be able to order things like that.
