How do you I clean the bottom of my Rowenta iron? It has black fabric stuck to it in a couple of places from slacks that shouldn't have been ironed!

Cannot get black stains off with the cleaner kit from Rowenta that I bough at Bed Bath and Beyond. Used almost all of the cream and still not clean. [email protected]

Are you heating up the soleplate first to get it really hot, then put on an oven mitt to protect your hand, squirt cream onto a folded pad of clean cotton fabric, then apply to iron sole plate, rub over stained area gently, wait, then rub off. you may want to rub the whole iron sole onto a piece of waste fabric to remove the burnt bits. Itcan take a couple of goes to clean. The ironing press cleaning sticks work well too.

Leaking water around base

If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber .

If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat .

If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle.

If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.

If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

God bless you

Bottom of iron has scale build up

Sounds like you need to clean the iron. Try equal parts of white vinegar and distilled water. Fill the reservoir with the mixture, turn iron to highest setting and place the tron on a wire rack in a baking pan lined with ab old towel. Repeat if needed, Rinse iron with a cycle pf distulled water. Clean iron in a ventillated area since vinegar odor will be strong.

Need to know how to clean a rowenta iron plate

As long as it's not a coated surface - plain steel - get 0000 steelwool to rub it with. It will take some elbow grease but it will work to clean and (almost) polish the surface.

Soleplate is dirty

Rowent sells a hot iron cleaning kit. It comes with a tube of cleaner, a piece of white terry cloth and a piece of cotton flannel. You spred some of the cleaner on the terry and iron it. Melted fabric and other grim clean right off the iron. Then you polish it up on the flannel. Good luck!

Cleaning the bottom of my rowenta irom.

Wad up a large piece of wax paper, turn off your steam and "iron" the ball of wax paper. The gunk comes right off the iron and sticks to the wax paper.
