Am I missing something simple? Read the manual and can't set the time or date on KDC MP628.

I read the manual. I put the unit into standby mode. I then push the knob on the right up, or down, or left, or right, and have even tried pressing it in for a few seconds, but the screen doesn't change so I can't go to step two. The "control" knob works under other setup screens allowing me to change selections with it, to fast forwards with it, to change from am to fm while in tuner mode, but seems to not do anything in standby mode. I've got to be missing something simple. I'd like to set the clock and the date but don't know how apparently.

Downloaded manual for Kenwood KDC-MP528, but instructions for setting clock time is sketchy, and can't get " clock adj." to come up, no matter in what sequence I hit instructed buttons....

Try putting the radio in standby mode and then hold the menu button in for a few seconds. Once you enter the menu, use the am or fm buttons to scroll through the menu. Then hold the seek up or seek down for a few seconds until the clock flashes, You should then be able to use the am/fm buttons and seek up and down buttons to set the hours and minutes. Once you have the time set, press the menu button again.

How can i restart or change the code on a kdc-mp435u kenwood

there is a small button just to the right and under the control knob. Push and hold this button in standby mode. That will reset the unit. Once the unit is reset, you will need to set all of your other settings as well as the security code.

Once reset, press the SRC display until you are in standby mode. Now Press Enter. Code set should be displayed. using the control knob (Up, down left and right) set the security code. The unit will ask you to confirm this. Once you enter it twice, the unit will read "APPROVED." Now you can set your filters and other settings and enjoy!

My Kenwood kdc-mp628

Hi Juarez,

best thing to do is Take the Player out of the dash, and open the lid and clean the laser and rails it rides up and down on manually. This is your best chance of getting it to read discs again and not buying a new Cd player. You can do it....
