This site (www.sewusa.com) sells manuals for many types of sewing
machines. It also has a section (on left side of home page) that
provides basic information about treading (bobbins too) and repair.
I
also own a 525 FA and just read that someone considers it is a piece of
junk. I'm having problems with the tread breaking constantly (with many hours
spent on this problem) and I even have a manual! Perhaps it is a
piece of junk?
Good luck!

SOURCE: Necchi Heavy Duty Sewing machine model 3205FA,
Generally when the needle does not pick up the bobbin thread, it means the needle is either too far in or just plain the wrong length. YOu might want to try lowering the needle just a hair and see if that helps.

Insert the needle with the flat side to the back. Thread the machine from the spool, left to the guide on top/rear, over the top towards the front, around the tensioner and up, around the take-up lever from right to left, down throught th semi-hidden guide, through the needle clamp guide and thread the needle through the front to the back.

what size needle does yours take
I use schmetz universal needles in my necchi's and the needles work great. I have a mechanical and a electronic necchi,, I just change the needle according to the fabric I'm sewing.
