Visual Toys are toys that use visual stimulation to help your learn things, through their visual sense. This is in contrast to toys that use touch or sound to stimulate learning and play.
colors, shapes and lighting are all examples of ways that visual toys work.

Are there any toys that are more exciting than just a bucket and spade to buy my toddlers for our beach trip next month? They are really young so they cant do ball games, I just wanted some sand toys that...

Toddlers will usually spend hours in the sand, building things, making pretend food and generally just getting very messy in the sand. Buckets and spades never seem to get boring for kids, but if you want to branch out, there are sand toys that come in all sorts of shapes, such as a cup cake set or a baking set.

Good toy suggestions for equipping toddler bedrooms

We all want to spoil our kids with toys and make sure they are up-to-date with all the latest trends, but a trip to a toy shop can be really overwhelming. Especially if you have your toddler with you, crying and yelling for every item in the shop.

It's best to plan ahead and know what you are looking for when you go shopping. Spontaneity can be left for specific trips i.e. to spend birthday money. You can then allow your toddler to be involved in the decision making process. Or if you pick a toy that you know you want to buy, you can allow your toddler to choose which color if there are options. This way you get to keep control over the purchases and your toddler will feel involved.

As most toddlers have only recently learned to walk, toys that promote movement are great for increasing confidence. Push carts or anything on wheels so that they can move around the room freely. It's good to have a few educational toys as well. They are so well designed these days that your toddlers wont realize that they are learning shapes, colors, letters while they are having fun. Try to keep these games age appropriate as it can be overwhelming to have games that target an older age group.

Drawing related toys are crucial. Anything from simple paper and pens, a coloring table, chalks and a blackboard, to some of the more sophisticated doodling and drawing games on sale. The main aim is to keep it relaxed and creative. The list of good toys for a toddler bedroom could go on forever. Kids love to play with animals, magnet sets and for sure you mustn't forget books. Having a kiddie bookshelf with a selection of colorful and interactive books is a wonderful thing.

If you are trying to budget, don't worry. You can pick up some great bargains at garage sales. Sometimes neighbors will pass on toys and puzzles that they no longer need. Ultimately, even without a big stock of fancy toys, toddlers can find entertainment in almost anything - from wooden spoons and saucepans to just playing in a cardboard box!

What are good musical toys to buy for toddlers? I want to get some but dont want to waste my money on things that wont get used.

Parenting.com have a good article that review some of the top musical toys. They tend to write about toys that you wouldn't have normally known about and they give honest feedback. That's why I like using their site.

Wooden Blocks Toys problems

When first choosing a toy for a child, it is best to determine if the toy is age appropriate. The toy packaging usually has age recommendations. Companies take the time to research and test their toys before they put them out on the market. It is always best to monitor your child, especially a toddler, with any toy. Kids seem to have the knack for finding a weak spot with things whether they want to or not. Best rule of thumb is if a toy is smaller than the palm of your childs hand or if it can fit in their mouth, don't let them play with it. Children are special gifts. Let's protect them at all costs. Good luck.
