My go pro hero 3 wont switch on, wont charge and shows no red light. basically does nothing. was working 4 days ago but seemed to have short battery life. the camera is only 3 weeks old! Could it just be a lemon battery? would plugging the go pro into an i phone charger's USB wreck the battery?

I have the exact same problem. I was able to charge the battery twice, but both times it ran empty after 20-30 min., and now the camera is dead as a brick. Absolutely nothing happens when I try to charge or turn it on. :(

SOURCE: The brand new HD GoPro

If this is a new camera then I would put in in the box and return it. This sounds like it could be the small fusses (not user replaceable) on the board or a problem with the cpu or power section of the camera. The fuses pop on quite a few cameras and will show about the same life. If it is under warranty then I'd not mess with it too much and get a replacement or a refund. If this is a real common issue then it indicates a design flaw so you might exchange cameras and end up having the same problem again.

If this were a older camera I'd suspect the battery's needing replacement. Since it is new then it has to be something a bit more serious.

My rebel t3i wont turn on!!!

I just bought a T3i and only used it 2 days of shooting. On third day, it's not turning on and it's 80 degree's. So not cold weather. Batteries are fully charged. When I put batter in and turn the switch on, the red light comes on for only a second and then nothing! Other times the red light won't even come on, period. As I said, I've only had it 3 days and it's dead....

I have a new unused Tronic T4X Battery Charger for 12v cars/motorbike. When this is plugged into the mains supply, the red standby light is illuminated, but when the 'Mode' button is depressed, it...

Re: Tronic T4X Battery Charger that is stuck in standby (red LED). Mine does the exact same thing. It was bought at Lidl in Norway when that company was present for a couple of years. I have taken the battery charger apart, but can not find any obvious faults, like blown components, bad soldering, etc. I also wonder why it fails like that. Just now I measured the tactile switch (mode button) with a multimeter, and it seems that it is faulty. 2 pairs is always connected, lets say pins 1 and 3 is always connected and pins 2 and 4 is always connected. No matter if the button is pressed. However pressing the button does not make a connection between the mentioned pairs of pins. There is always a 2,76 MOhm resistance between the pairs, even when the button is pressed. This makes me think that the button is faulty. This is how a tactile switch works: https://www.digikey.com/en/articles/the-basics-of-tactile-switches

Edit: I just soldered a couple of wires from either side of the switch. Then I could power up the charger and make contact between the pins while it was on and showing the red indicator light. I measured 5VDC between the wires and 0VDC when I shorted the wires. The LED did not change at all. The output of the charging leads was 30 mVDC while contact was open, and 10mVDC when the button was "pressed" (wires shorted). Maybe I have to have a battery connected for the charger to start charging/change mode? That will be the next thing to try.

I can't turn my blackberry on.

The battery has been drained too much. You'll need to get a new battery or the battery needs to be externally charged to at least 50% externally
