According to iRobot support, my Scooba is in a diagnostic mode. All lights are on and it goes up and down the acustic scale. They tell me this was caused by the power and clean button pushed simultaneously. Further, support tells me this mode is for iRobot engineers and that there is no way to get it out. I paid $500 for this thing new and cannot believe that Engineering is so stupid. Does anyone know how to get my Scooba out of diagnostic mode?
This is a common issue :)
his morning, I turned on my Scooba and it started beeping a scale of tones and blinking all its lights in sequence. After an hour or so of resetting, cleaning, disassembling, researching, and scratching my head, I stumbled across the solution on Roomba Review. But, for me at least, it was even easier than all of that. I don't have any of my own pictures for this procedure, but it's pretty straight forward.
thnx.
If the issue wld not resolve :(
You can do a search for scooba stuck in test mode and come up with several similar issues involving the Scooba control panel and the button contacts. The contacts or communication tether/cable are what fail, moisture can be a contributing factor.Â
A few options for you are to disassemble the scooba down to the control panel and either replace it or if you do not feel comfortable with doing the repairs you can ship it in to us to do the repair work for you. Either option will cost less than a replacement and if the repair costs through us exceed our recommended repair budget of $125 then you will have the option to trade it in.Â

If it is not on a warranty there few options for you are to disassemble it down to the control panel and either replace it or if you do not feel comfortable with doing the repairs you can ship to do the repair work for you. You can buy parts or trade it here

But might be the "Clean" button just stuck on because of water damage to the button contacts. Try to pull it. Or you will need to disassemble the control panel and carefully seperate the mylar sheets that make up the contact using a box cutter. After that use isopropyl alcohol to clean the contacts
But it is only in case if you can do it.
And dont forget TO UNPLUG THE DIVICE FOM POWER OUTLET
Good Luck
Remove the battery and let it be in a rest for 2 mins.then reinsert battery.this will reset and get it back to work
Hi
Remove Scooba's tank by pushing down on the metal carrying handle and then lift up. Make sure there is a proper amount of cleaning solution in the "Clean" tank.
Once you have verified the fluid level in the "Clean" tank, you can test the following:
Check Scooba's pump -
With the tank still removed, press the Power button and then the "Clean" button.
If the pump is turning, but Scooba still does not put down solution:
Thanks

Unplug it completely from any power for about a half hour and turn it back on... see if that fixes the issue
Robert
Remove the battery and power.
Remove the two screws holding the bumper shell in place and remove it.
Carefully peel up the sticker with the control buttons on it. This sticker is actually the control panel. There is a data cable attached to it just below the "Clean" button. Be careful not to break it!
Clean the surface under the sticker with some isopropyl alcohol. (I didn't actually have to do this, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt.)
Gently replace the "sticker" (i.e. control panel) and make sure it's completely flat.
Check to see if it works again. If not, repeat.
Replace the bumper shell and screws.
THIS worked!!! thanks so much! The worst part was removing the darn screws! Perfect! You saved me so much!

Did you try pressing both button again ?
If there is no service code, you just have to remove the battery to reset the scooba.
Check here the service codes.
Try removing and reinstalling that battery.
If that doesn't work, you will have to send it in for them to rest the scooba.
Hi
is all the lights flash in sequence or any beep..
Use the "Clean" button to move forward in the diagnostic series.
Use the "Power" button to move back in the diagnostic series.
as all the lights flash in sequence or any beep..it is
Error-Code "1":
OM Says It Means: Vacuum Malfunction
OM Says Do This: Remove and rinse Scooba's filter and vacuum port.
Elaboration: It is implied that something is blocking air flowing through the ducts. No velocimeter-type sensor has been located, therefore the sensing tactic is most likely one that looks for a reduction of 'fan-motor current'. When air-flow through the blower is blocked, motor-current will decrease slightly. It must be assumed that Scooba detects that difference in fan-motor current and issues error-code "1".

Usually answered in minutes!
To Ciraldo52. Sorry, it didn't work. Does anyone else have a possible solution?
I have already left it unplugged overnight and that didn't help either.
Abhishek33, all lights come on in sequence beginning with SERVICE then going through the last three. Pushing either light just runs it throught the sequence again. I can hold down the power button to turn off, but when I press power or clean it again goes throught the sequence.
I was encouraged by the Wiz that suggested I clean the data stuff. Did, but unfortunately its still all lights. The good news is the Scooba is no worse off. Would you Wizzes keep trying. Right now I'm open for any suggestion-almost.

Ginko, I don't want it in diagnostic mode. I have already removed battery and hoping to reset. Still no luck
Rylee, I have checked these things. Thanks but still no Oscar. Please fellows and gals, keep trying.
Did the thing with the bumper and unplugged. No go. I haven't given up, don't you.
This didn't do it either. The Scooba is still in Diagnostic mode
askme, I don't feel confortable fooling around with the circuit boards. How much would it cost to have it repaired (ballpark figure). Thanks
iRobot Scooba backs up real fast, shut down, and repeat
