I have a magnavox 26md350b and the dvd player constantly ejects the disc. It won't play and just ejects immediately after the disc is put in.

pushing the play button should do it

you have 3 alternatives for open:
1) with the button eject or close/open
2) remote control. button open/close or eject
3) with small knife pull out the carrousel for to bring the disk, with carefully.unppluged the power cord.
otherwise you must go to the repair shop TV for fix it

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, over time the laser becomes weak until it can no longer read the disc, but you can buy a DVD cleaning kit that might breath more life into the player, if no! cheaper to replace the DVD player.

You should try unplugging the DVD player from its power source then plugging it back in. Now try to open it and if that doesn't work than you'll probraly have to take it apart to get the disk out but sometimes the DVD players can get worn out or if you have a cheaper DVD player it might just be freezing up on you. I have had these problems before. I just took the DVD player apart to get my disk and then trashed it.

It not the disc, it won't take a disc ...... if I go to put one in it Makes noise but won't actually take the disc. Would this be the loading gear and can it be fixed or?

Disc have something sticky attached on top (label ,specially rental discs') so when you try to eject disc get stuck on tray of spindle motor.Top cover need to be opened in that case in order to remove disc

Two possible scenarios: First the optical pick up assembly that read the disc has malfunctioned or the eject button is faulty. Either way it is just cheaper to replace the DVD player with a standalone dvd player connected to one the tv input(s). Too expensive to repair just the dvd player if it is tv/dvd combo. The cost for labor and parts is more expensive these days to repair tvs or dvd player. For around $30 you can just replace...much more cost effective.

I found the answer on your site. Unplug, wait a minute and plug it back it in, then press Play followed by Eject.

I had that problem too, until I got DVD43 (a freeware program) DVD43 Runs between your conputer DVD player, and then removes the DRM copy guard signal, Before it goes to your copy program.
