My digital camera seems to have lost my holiday photos. The memory card is inserted but I get a message saying no file.

I had tried to import onto the computer earlier but this was unsuccessful so I opened the camera while it was still plugged into the computer. Could this have erased my file ?

SOURCE: File Error report on a W80 camera....

If you bought your memory card on eBay, there is a good chance that is the problem, as i had that issue myself....after dealing with the seller and getting my money back, i went and bought a sony 4GB card from Circuit City, worked fine for a while, and then got the same error. I have a feeling it has something to do with the camera's software. I havent tried the battery trick yet but its next on the list

SOURCE: No CF card

The camera body has a tiny switch marked "CF" in one position and Sony's "memory stick" symbol in the other. Apparently I accidentally reset the switch from "memory stick" to "CF" while slipping the camera body into (or out of) its carrying-case. Once I had set this switch from "CF" back to the "memory stick" position, everything worked fine. Solution:  read the user's manual more carefully next time!!

SOURCE: i cannot download photos from my sony cyershot

Hi Jacki:

Please unplug your camera from PC.
2- Go to ADD/REMOVE software and remove all software you installed related to your Sony Cyber-Shot.
3- Use the CD which came with your camera and install the drivers for your camera.
4- Connect your Camera to your PC.
5- Turn on the camera, The drivers for your camera would be installed automatically.

After it is finished installing, you would be able to download, delete or view your stored pictures on your PC.

SOURCE: I purchased a Sony cybershot DSC- S930 and

Hello,
The camera does not recognize the card because

1. Card not compatible
2. Camera cannot handle such a large capacity.
3.Card not inserted correctly.
Maybe a recent firmware update can address the 2nd limitation.

Hope it helps.

Importing pictures

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Hello, I have a samsung es55 camera and need to retrieve some pictures after they have been deleted. I have looked online and it seems this is possible through accessing the recycle bin, thought I can't...

I'm working on the premise that you've deleted the photos from your camera memory or memory card.

If you have and used them since, its unlikely that you'll be able to retrieve them, you could have already over written them.

Its unlikely that you've deleted to your recycle bin, thats on your PC, usually already on your desktop. Camera's normally delete for good.

However, check your pc recycle bin, just double click onto it, it should be on your desk top. Once open you can choose to restore deleted files.

There are 2 file recovery programmes available for free from "filehippo.com" called "recuva" and "PC Inspector File Recovery 4.0". Download and install either of these onto your pc and recover from you camera memory to your pc (just create a folder on you desktop".

Good luck.

I have deleted photos by error will be to recover

Dont worry, you can recover deleted photos from camera with camera recovery software.

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download asoftech photo recovery software
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

It seems i have lost the photos that were in tht camera. a little confused about internal memory and what that means

Some digital cameras can take pictures with out any memory card installed, some have no way to use a memory card. Most digital cameras use some kind of memory card which can be inserted in the camera's card slot. When the card is not installed, some cameras can take internally stored files, either video or picture files. In order to get those files on a card, a card must be inserted in the memory card slot then go to the menu to copy the files to the memory card.

Deleted photo recovery from cameras internal memory

Hi,

Please try this, turn on your camera, insert a blank memory stick, slide the side switch down to the lowest point, should say “No file in this folder” click on menu, click on Setup, use the arrows and go to Memory Stick, choose “Copy” choose “Album” the “OK” this will copy all you pictures from the Album in your camera to your memory stick.

Hope this helps
