Hi, not sure if its relevent but we have a hotpoint aquarius DWF50 machine, light flashed same at times, sometimes push the switches would not operate properly to select a program. Lately the pump for emptying water at the end of a cycle would continue to run even when it was empty for hours until you turned it off.
Before doing anything else, disconnect the mains lead.....
I checked the float sensor for water etc as advised ...nothing dry..then decided to take off the controller board as previously we had a problem with the relay being dry soldered to the circuit board...on the left hand side of the board I found two thin wires, black and black with grey stripe, one was not soldered correctly to the board..dry joint and pulled away as i tugged at it. Resoldered the joint properly, reassembled board and connectors to the door. Fitted screws back etc. That was a week ago...its been fine since.
No idea what the wires were attached to at the other end but they look like low ampage signal type wires perhaps from some sort of sensor...anyway they should have been soldered properly during manufacture...years ago. Hope that helps ofr gives you something more to go on.

Hi Dave, First unplug...obviously. Then on our DWF50 there are 4 self tapping screws at the top just inside the door lip that secure the plastic facial to the top of the door. Rermove them, then the top 2 screws on each side going down the side of the door, (top on each side is a self tapper, second is a threaded screw, important when re assembling...). You should now have enough movement to carefully pull away the plastic facia. The control switches and circuit board are fastened to the back, try not to pull any wires too tightly and look where they route. The PCB on ours is held in a plastic tray located by two selftapping screws, take these out and try not to drop them inside the door....the circuit board is simply clipped into the tray. Take a picture on your phone or digital camera to remind you where the plugs / wires go.To gain more access to the board I removed all the cable plugs etc but couldn't remove the black and black grey wire, that's how I found the dry joint. Look carefully at all the joints to make sure they are all soldered correctly and wires attached. If not carefully re solder the joints that are suspect. Try not to solder or touch near the large black program chip. Assuming you find a problem assembly is a straight forward reverse of the sequence making sure the cables go back in the correct place..thats where the photo is useful. Check it again...Remember which screws go where on the door. thats it, done. Hope it helps, ours is still working well and its had a lot of use since I did the fix. Best wishes, Rob

I had a hotpoint engineer try to fix this type of problem.
He insisted that there was something stuck in the bottom of the filter or pump.
Sure enough there was.
1. Unplug your dishwaser at the wall. Check its off or disconnected.
2. Remove the grill under the bottom rack.
3. Ensure that the filter is free from food and other obstacles and clean the filter.
4. Before replacing filter etc, get a piece of metal coat hanger wire and care fully insert it down the channel under the filter to free any lodged items. You may also see a small white impleller try to turn this with your finger or the coat hanger wire (this is the info from the engineer!).
5. replace filter and retry a wash.
This routine fixed or machine twice and will hopefully fix yours!

The third time about 1 year later this occured again and even hotpoint gave up as they could not fix the machine. (after multiple visits). I think that the two flashing lights are were a red herring and the dishwasher had a separate intermittent fault. Hotpoint replaced the unit for a mimum charge. Callout + 40.

SOURCE: fdw60 starts but stops soon after
In my case it was the pressure sensor on the side of the short hose between the main (circulatory) pump and the bottom jet arm (which spins inside the machine)
Remove it and test resistance on terminals while blowing into the tube.
There is another pressure sensor on a hose attached to the waste assembly but appeared to be working correctly.

I rectified the problem with ECO & Prewash light by spraying PCB with WD40 now washes but stops at drying cycle and lights flash again. I can live with that. if anyone knows the answer to this I would appreciate it

HI Dave, did you have a look for dry joints on the soldering? what made you think of WD40 as a solution? was it wet? just interested now. best wishes . Rob
