The Xbox 360 cannot access the internet through an ethernet cable that is connected to your laptop. You have to connect your Xbox 360 directly to your modem or to some form or router.

What's your problem?Im trying to hook up my xbox 360 to my JVC 27 inch TV, I installed the yellow to video input and the red and white to audio input and all get is the audio and no video. What am I...

Troubleshoot.

1. Ensure yellow is actually connected to an "input" slot.

2. Ensure TV is set to the correct input source.

3. Ensure your yellow, white and red RCA connectors are grouped in a single input source to TV. Sometimes the "component" and "composite" inputs are grouped closely together.

4. Consult the TV manual for hookup instructions.

5. Conduct a continuity test on the yellow xbox wire with a multi-meter.

Xbox 360

go on the linksys site and then click on the router you have. They all have default IP addresses. Maybe you are typing in the wrong IP address? Also, some of your settings may be wrong so check some XBOX router FAQ's online for other help. I also have a linksys router, but it works fine on my XBOX. You might want to try directly hooking up your XBOX to your modem, maybe it's not detecting the router if you have wireless?

Ip address failed

I think you need to ring your internet provider and they will enable xbox live from their side. Its fairly simple and they will know what your talking about.
