USB connection Hi. I've installed the PC Studio and everything inside it, but when I plug my phone in and double-click the PC Studio, it comes up with an error message which reads; "COM server registration failed. Please restart the system." Also, another one appears, saying; "Runtime error! This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information." Of course, the phone doesn't connect. Anybody know anything about it?

I've personally gone through this circle...ugh.
First - Reboot your computer, and your cellphone. Turn them both completely off, and back on.
If that doesn't solve it,
Second - UNinstall everything to do with your phone. Drivers/Software/Etc. Once that's done, Reboot your computer. Now reinstall the drivers/software/etc, and when that's finished, plug your phone in, let windows find and install what it needs to.
If THAT doesn't work,
Sometimes windows installs your phone as a modem, and then as a usb disk. It may be possible that you machine recognizes the modem first and runs a process to coincide with that. FInd that process and kill it, and you should be good to go!

Here's the thing, try to rum PC studio first if it is properly installed it should detect your phone right away, if not try to uninstall and reinstall the PC studio and the driver of your handset. Everything is in the PC studio installation disc or go to the connectivity of your phone and set your USB connection to MASS STORAGE MODE, with that you can view the file stored in the mass storage of your phone without using PC studio.

Corby Phones are having selections for the cell to be used as a data carrying device(mass storage), media player or SAMSUNG New PC Studio,PC Sync. The cell phone need to be configured first according to the need. Same way the PC suite has to be installed in to the PC to access the full features of the cell.
Please do the following: First download latest version of SAMSUNG New PC Studio,PC Sync from below link:

Now Open the location where you have saved the executable file and install it by double clicking on it. Restart the PC
Now from your cell phone : do the following steps:: 1:: Now open 'setting ' submenu inside the cell main menu. 2: Select " Phone Setting" 3: Select "PC Connections" 4:From the option button, please select "PC suit" 5: from the bottom of the page, select "Save"
Now come out from the menu by pressing back button thrice.
Now Connect the Supplied USB cable to the PC and second end of the cable, connect to the Mobile Phone. Make sure that you exit all the applications on the cell. You can do it be pressing back button on the phone 6 times. Phone will show you a symbol of "Computer" as an animation
Now double click on the Samsung PC studio short cut on the desktop or alternatively go to start>all programs > Samsung New PC suite and left click on it.
Wait fro a minute and the PC suite detect and connect your device. Please have patience as this process may take some time.
Now you will be able to do what you want, be it to accessing the message, phone book,video,audio or connecting to the internet from the cellphone mode.

Try this, I had a the same problem as you guys + found this on a web forum. Quite a frustrating problem to have, It fixes the phone, but after a while you have to do this over again. I am wishing I never bought this phone, even though the reviews were really great.

To transfer files using PC Studio, from a PC to the handset, follow the steps below:

1. These instructions assume you currently have PC Studio. If you do not, please check the Samsung Accessories site to purchase the software.
2. If the application is not yet installed, insert the CD into the drive on your PC and follow the on screen instructions to install PC Studio 3.0 (version 3.0.1)
   NOTE: DO NOT CONNECT USB CABLE DURING PC STUDIO INSTALLATION
3. Confirm the handset's USB mode is set to PC Studio by following the steps below:
   • While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu

8. Click on To Phone, on the Phone Explorer menu bar (See example above) to copy to the handset
9. From the Search Folder screen, Navigate to the desired destination on the handset
10. Click OK to copy the selected file to the handset's memory

PC Studio Checklist:

1. Make sure your USB or Serial cable is compatible with your phone model. You can always check for the correct data cable by looking at the model number on samsungmobile.com in your phone's accessories section.
2. If you are using a Bluetooth dongle or IrDA port as your connection, the necessary driver(s) should be provided with their data kit and should be correctly installed and set up prior to the installation of PC Studio.

Hints & Tips:

• Remember to select file formats and file sizes supported by the phone when uploading files to the phone from the PC.
• Remember to select the correct destination folder in the phone when uploading files to the phone from the PC (e.g. mp3/aac files-> music folder, jpeg/gif files-> downloaded images folder, 3gp/mpeg4 files-> downloaded videos folder...)

PC Studio for Vista can be found on the Samsung Website. Series is "U series" and model, of course, is U600. As for installation, as Samsung suggests, make sure that the phone is NOT connected to the USB port at ANY POINT prior to the completion of the installation. Install the software as normal. Then, after it has finished installing, open up PC Studio and plug in your phone. At this point, the software SHOULD recognize that the phone has been connected after setting it up to use USB connection in the “Connection Manager” (Click “File”, “Connection”).
If it is still not recognizing the device after plugging It in, or if it displays a message along the lines of “USB Device Not Recognized” KEEP THE PHONE PLUGGED IN TO THE USB, Go into the Control Panel in the Start Menu and open up the Device Manager. At the very bottom of the list of hardware etc, there will be a selection for “Universal Serial Bus controllers”, expand this menu and look for an item called something like “Unknown USB device”. Double click on the device and go to the “Driver” tab (I think you have to press a button on the first screen that appears in order to get to the menu driver tab. Although I can’t remember what was written on it, there was only one there). When in the Driver tab, click on “Update Driver”. Now on the wizard that appears, click on “Browse my computer for driver software” then, ignoring the rest of the page, click on “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”. Uncheck the selection box “Show compatible hardware” and scroll down the list of Manufacturers until you get to “Samsung”. Now, if you’ve installed PC Studio, you should see four separate selections for “Samsung”. Click on the fourth manufacturer selection and you should see “SAMSUNG Mobile USB Device” as a Model selection, select it and click “Next” (If, 1, you don’t see “SAMSUNG Mobile USB Device” at all, then just browse the other three Samsung based manufacturers or, if 2, you have more than one entry of “SAMSUNG Mobile USB Device” then select the top one”. Also, if Windows comes up with any warnings about installing device drivers, just ignore them). Windows will now update the driver (It actually updates three drivers). If you open up PC Studio the phone should now be recognized as connected (Assuming your prior setting up of the Connection Manager to use USB).
