I just bought a Nokia 6210 Navigator. It comes with a stereo headset with 3 black bands on the pin.
When I connected my preferred headset (mono, from an earlier phone) which only has 2 black bands on the pin, it fits the 6210 but the phone tells me to ''use phone microphone'' and the microphone on my headset does not pick up my voice.
Can you please advise me what adapter I need to convert a 2 band pin to a 3 band pin and where I could buy one? Thanks.
The device is not compitable with your so it showing this message or you have not enter in microphone mode .press themicrophone pin tightly in the soket as if it does get connected properly then also it says this message.
The phone should work even with mono plugs (the ones with two bands) if they are compatible with same model.
The only choice is going to a phone shop and looking if they have an dapter for your old headset, that part is not easy to find.
The best choice would be buying a new bluetooth wireless adapter.
For sale you also commonly find adaptors to connect a 3.5 mm jack into your phone: Nokia 3.5mm to Pop-port Stereo Adapter this wont work on your old headset, it is used to connect regualr headphones.
You can get at Radio Shack
