There are only a few possible reasons...

  1. The battery is not being charged properly
  2. The battery needs to be cycled
  3. The batter is defective
Option 1 - If available try another charger
Option 2 - Run the device until the battery totally dead\depleated of power. Then charge the battery for the maximum charge time suggested by the manufacturer. If you do not have the manual and cannot find their website then attempt to charge the unit for apptox 24 hours. If this does not work then it is either option 1 or 2.
Option 3 - If available try another battery in the device and see if it is being charged and if it is holding the charge. If Yes, then the battery need to be replaced.

Can I use regular charger on 18 volt batt

* Like a 12VDC auto (car battery) charger? No. It does not have enough voltage to overcome the initial surge (about 20-22 volts)
* If this is a Lithium Ion pack the it should be putting out a minimum of 16 Volts DC to a maximum of 21 Volt DC.
* The battery (or charger) also needs to monitor the temperature of the batteries, Charge voltage, and Charge rate. This is to prevent over charging and over heating.
* Just slapping a charger on any multiple cell battery pack will destroy it if it's overcharged (over heated).
* If you do have a charger but the charger won't recognize the battery then it may be possible to give it a "boost" with another full charged battery (has to be the same type). This is where you connect the batteries in parallel (Positive to positive, negative to negative.) Let it charge for a short time 15-20 seconds should do it. Try the charger again.
* 18V Battery restoral (with variable power supply); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Gj4yFX58UU
* Using existing charger to fix battery (does not always work); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GfPKg05ZIU
* If your using NiCad batteries then you will have to "Zap" the battery (This is a bit hazardous); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5B9rx7hoizk
* I think the earlier video guy had the right idea. Just turn in the bad ones and get new on (or at least Lithium Ion batteries)

Black n decker lithium battry charger keeps flashing red

My 20V battery was stored completely discharged for over 8 months. After all that time I bet the battery was holding no charge whatsoever. When you plug a completely drained battery to a charger the charger will experience a big demand in current and will fault out, flashing red. So we need to put just a little bit of charge in the battery for the charger to start working. What I did is with the battery in charger unplug and plug the charger like 10 times. Every time you plug it in it will send voltage to the battery for a split of a second before the charger fails. Eventually the battery will get enough charge for the charger to start working.

WHEN i CHARGE THE BATTERY, IT NEVER SHOWS IT IS 'FULL' HOWEVER LONG i CHARGE IT

Hello,

Charging should take maximum of 6hrs. But some phones charges full in 2hr, 3hr, etc...

If your refuses to charge full, after 6hrs, then there is a problem with either your charger or your battery. One of these is the cause of the problem.

So you can have the battery and charge tested on another phone. Maybe that of a friend or family.

I hope the above makes sense to you.

Good luck.

Why is my charge light indicator blinking instead of showing a solid orange color?

It is attempting to charge the battery, if it blinks constantly the battery is reaching a point where it can't hold a charge. To test this, unhook the power supply adapter to see long the battery lasts while you watch a movie "1.5 to 2.0 hours is the norm" anything less the battery is suspect.

No disc is showing on screen when a movie dvd is inserted. There is no spinning.

If there's no spinning noise check that it is closing completely (lid usually makes contact with something inside to initiate loading).
Alternate possibilities - check battery may not be holding a charge, charger may be bad - also if player has a lot of miles on it the motor may have burned out

I have a accurian portable dvd player APD-3955 and it works but the charger doesnt charge it anymore. Now the battery died and I was wondering if it just needs a new charger. I got it June 2008.

I had the same problem and I found out that is definitely the battery. I had used mine only a few counted times and after 1 year the battery would not charge. I would plug it and the charge light would turn on and stayed for about 4 minutes and then turned off. I called axion and talk to customer support. The tech said that the internal batteries only last for a year whether you use the DVD or not. They would replace the battery for $60 + shipping costs. As you can see... it is not worth it....sometimes you are lucky and get good stuff for cheap but sometimes... you just get what you pay for.... and this is one of the cases. Yes, I am also very disapponted. What a piece of junk!!!! I can still watch DVD with either the charger plugged in or with the car charger. But it lost its Portable side.....

Codecs anyone?

I have the same camera, and found out that the VRO file is just MPEG2. So copy the VRO file onto your computer from your disc. Once its on your harddrive, you can right click on it and go to properties. Re-name your file from VRO to MPG, making sure that you still have the original VRO file in case you need it for other programs. Once I change it to MPG file name, I can use media player to play it and I have a DVD movie maker where i can edit and record to DVD.
