Pride Mobility Jazzy 614 HD Power Wheelchair - Used Power Chairs Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jan 12, 2013

Hi I have a Jazzy 614 HD. I charge my chair with (new charger) and it turns off when fully charged and my Joy stick reads fully charged (New Joystick and new batteries) but within three to four hour

The service pople taking the calls are rude. They said that nothing is wrong and they will charge me $60.00 if they send a serviceman out again. I have had the chair for 2 1/2 years and I have never had the problem. The light panel goes down 1 light at a time and I never used more than 3 green all day normally if I am house bound the most I use is 1 bar. I am afraid to run the chair with 1 flashing red light so I do not damage the chair. Again please HELP???????????

Perhaps since your chair is over 2.5 years old you have underlaying problems such as motorheatup or excessive drag per a locked bearing or a bushingtrhat is out of lube.somebody needs to at everything that moves thathas to do withload carry,or powertrain.

I jhave a Jazzy Select GT power chair, I put the charger on it when the light shown red and green, when it powers up when charged the both lights will turn green, but now it will do nothing with start

Hi Gloria,
The first thing you need to do is measure the voltage at the charging socket of the Joystick (outside 2 pins). This will determine a lot of things, so I can guide you further.

When plugged into charger both lights show green but chair not fully charged

First measure the voltage of the batteries at the charging socket of the joystick.

Why when charging battery seems to drain instead

The 3rd wore of the charger plug tells the controller to shut off all power to the scooter while the charger is on. Check the plug for a broken wire

Blinking yellow wrench light on pride jazzy 614 HD

Your version has a Dynamic Controls model controller and joystick.
Unplug the charger and engage the motor/brake lever so the chair is no longer in free-wheel mode (con't push by hand)
Turn the chair off, wait 5 seconds, turn the chair back.
If chair still does not run and your wrench is flashing you have a problem. Count the wrench flashes - the flash count indicates the error detected. 3, 4, 5, and 6 flashes indicate and error with the motors.
3=Left motor fault
4=Right motor fault
5=Left brake fault (may not be engaged)
6=Right brake fault (may not be engaged)
Any other fault code usually means the electronics or wiring is bad and not worth fixing.

Jazzy 614HD will not move. Lights flash from right to left, then cuts off. Unlock instructions are not effective. Chair is fully charged.

If chair has a tilt, recline or lift seat on it it may be going into lock-out mode on its own due to a limit switch fault. If you don't have any of these options then I suggest you remove the joystick, controller and any wire harness between the two and send them to a shop like mine for repair.
The usual lock out light chase is from left to right - not right to left so this is suspect of a different issue.

I had not used the chair in 2 months, when i charged the battery in my electric wheelchair, the lights near the top of the joy stick shows its fully charge, but when i unplug the cord, it go's...

Yep It sure does Why didn't you charge the chair for 2 months? Charge at least once a week if you don't use it daily. Always break in the new batteries by using the chair daily for 10-15 days charging everynite then charge once a week if it sits for that long without use. Always put up fully charged. Do this and your batteries should last 3 -4 years Charge overnite if you use daily and never charge more than 24 hours Good Luck

Just bought sed Jazzy Select for my wife. Chair appears relatively new. No leakage or corrosion on batteries. Charger indicates full charge but within two minutes of operation both green lights on joy...

Yep you have a weak or bad battery. Even tho the chair looks new if they didn't take care of the batteries ie: charge regularly then the batteries went bad just sitting. I would check in your area for a battery warehouse or store that can get you 2 new batteries at a reasonable price. If there is an Interstate battery distributor or store near you the get your batteries there. Your Select uses 2 U1 batteries. Check out my tips on charging your batteries once you have the new ones put in. Hope this helps
