Hannspree 28" tv video shuts off after on for a few minutes

It has very old components and is in need of repairs and some tlc.
Take it to an old fashioned TV repair shop, find an engineer who is over 50 years old and you should stand a chance of success.
You can then look forward to large electricity bills from using it.

hi this could be capacitors in the power supply or dry solder joints

The TV seems to have a failing Power Supply. This could potentially be repaired but would be an out of warranty expense.

I would get the TV replaced under guarantee. There maybe a loose wire in the power supply or invertor stages that is arcing and burning

Hi it looks like you have a bad ballast issue or bad lamp this lamps are rated 6000-8000 life hours that equal to 2-4 years of use so if your lamp is around that old it could be that the lamp is burning out but if you have a new lamp and get this issue then the problem will come from the power source of the lamp witch is the BALLAST BOARD that it might not be able to maintain the lamp on I would start with the lamp if it is a old one all ready

That happens when the ballast transformer for the backlight overheat. Backlight or cold cathode light function is responsible for the images that you see in the screen.
Unless you are capable of replacing by yourself the parts with the same value and you have the right tools and skill to do it your own.
Otherwise, I suggest you bring your monitor to a credible technician.. or if the unit is still under warranty you can bring that to their service center..

Faulty Video boards If you bought it in May then rapidly get it fixed under warranty or exchange it for a better brand. Who is Hannspree? not well known and may be cheap Korean TV with no parts available

I still have that problem. I calle Mfr and also spoke to repair shops recommended by them and they said they estimate a cost of 300-400$ or so approx. I am waiting to buy a new LCD which could be few 100 more but at least dont have to live with the old one and keep spending money...

yes its the problem of the capacitors getting heated up on the main board aND SO THE TV GETS SHUT OFF AFTER IT GETS HEATED.ON THE MAIN BOARD OF THE TV CHECK OUT WITH THE HELP OF A MULTIMETER and replace the faulty capacitors and then it should work.

this happens to my tv as well it simply will just shut off and turn itself back on and then shut itself off every 2 - 3 minutes...can someone help??
