My phone system is over 9 years old. I would like to foward calls to an external number (ie cell phone) when im not in the office. is this possible with the NorStar m7310 phone? if so, how do i program the phone?
You have to know how to get into programming, and it depends on the type of telephone lines you have... if you have regular analog lines, on a out bound call transfer there is going to be line degragation. Meaning that the outgoing call is not going to be of the best quality.
Secondly, you have to see how many telephone lines you have, if you have 3 analog trunks, with a call forwarding to a cell phone, you will be using up 2 lines... 1 incoming and 1 outgoing to your cell. This leaves 1 trunk for incoming or outgoing callers.
I guess I really never gave you the solution...
1 - Create a destination code (9 for example) and program it to use route 001. Absorb length = all.
2 - Program route 001 to dial out on pool A, assuming all your lines are pooled.
3 - Allow redirect to the extension doing the forwarding
4 - Make sure all lines have supervision set to Y
5 - Then you can dial F4, dial 9, and dial the destination phone number.
6 - Dial F#4 to cancel forward.
