Memory card locked!??

I used my Pentax Optio E10 tonight and took the memory card out to put the pictures on the computer, put the card BACK into the camera, turned it on to delete the pictures, and it now says Card Locked on the screen. It won't let me take pictures or do anything at all. How do I UNLOCK the card when I don't know how it got locked in the first place?

The card locked usually means 'protected' Check out the manual for image protection - on/off. Or put card back into computer and delete[NOT FORMAT] from there. A more comprehensive manual is usually found the the CD that came with the camera

After i turn on my Optio E10, it shuts off right away even after i put in new batteries.

Sounds like a memory card problem. Try using A 512mb San Disk SD Card. Not a San Disk SDHC card. see if that doesn;t help you out. Good-Luck

Hi - I am trying to connect to my computer to print pictures of my Pentax Optio E10, but I am not getting a recognition from the computer when I plug my camera in.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

My camera shows CARD LOCKED

Try taking the card out of the camera and clicking the side of the card - there may be a little gap on one side of the card or a small button that you can slide up and down and then reinsert your card.

Sdhc memorty card in a pentax optio e10 camera

The E10 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Memory card locked!??

What you need to do is take out the card, and on the side of it there should be a little gray thing which can slide up and down. It needs to be slid all the way up. I hope this helps!!
