Only ps3 games and bluray disc wont load

hello. maybe the blue laser that play the ps3 games and bluray disc might be broken. if your ps3 plays ps2 games and dvds, then im afraid you have to replace your broken laser of your ps3. you can also try reformatting your drive. hope this helps. goodluck!

The PS3 disk and the Bluray disk require more intensity from the laser or, depending which model you own, has a seperate lens to read them all together. PS2 games are equivilant to DVDs and then you have CDs at the bottom. Check out "how to clean my Bluray lens" on google. Might even check youtube. All you need is alcohol and q-tips. Don't press down too hard when cleaning and don't worry, the alcohol dries very quickly. Clean it with alchol then cleans again with dry q-tip. very easy.

NOTE: when removing the Bluray drive from the board, the ribbon clips "flip up" and DO NOT "pull out" like most PCs (computers) do....if you are familiar.

Could be because it is a PS3 model with two lasers, one for bluray and one for DVDs. The bluray one may be shot.
Also had the same issue with a single laser PS3 and just needed to have the laser replaced.

This may be a case of replacing the laser lens. If your console is out of warranty, take it to your local Game Stop, or somewhere that does Sony repair. Have you checked your video output for the bluray to make sure it is set properly? You should be able to set it to automatic so it will be able to set the signal at the proper level. It also wouldn't hurt to try a lens cleaner which is for the Bluray and ps3 system. (approx $25 at BestBuy)

if your ps3 plays regular dvds and playstation 2 games but not blurays is most likely that your system needs a new laser lens not the whole bluray drive people tink that they do need to replace the whole bluray drive to fix this problem but all you need to do is replace the bluray laser lents it is cheaper but people replace the complete bluray drive because it is easer I am a ebay thrusted seller and I do sell both the laser or the bluray or use playstations so this is why I know your problem verry good you can do this your self or have some one installed for you or I you can send the bluray drive to me and I can sell you just the laser and installed for you there is a lot of options on this hopefully I have solve or a least help you in your problem thanks

See if a DVD works. For me, I know my Bluray is ruined because I can watch DVDs and play PS2 games fine but anything Bluray does not work. If a DVD does not work, you have more of a problem, if DVD does work you need a new BlueRay which Sony should take care of for you. If you don't have receipt, etc. like me you can buy a new Bluray (KES-400AAA) on Ebay and use this guide to install it http://edpsystemssupport.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=29&Itemid=45.

is it playing bluray discs? if not its a problem with the last download. It'll still play cd's ps2 games just not ps3 games or bluray, sorry to say but its a job for sony, call up your local help line(number can be found on the website) and they will arrange a replacement or to repair yours. There service is normally good. Hope this helps.
