What is the protective film in the microwave that must be remove before use.

The owner's manual sometimes doesn't address the protective films that must be removed.

There is a protective film on inner door screens which must not be removed.

Your best bet is to call the manufacturer's help line.

Where can I purchase the protective film for a microwave door?

This is just a suggestion---Lots of sellers (including on EBAY) SELL a wrap material in various shades that you simply cut and press on the item---I would presume you would be looking for a lightly tinted or clear piece of this material.

Recently this has become very popular and CARBON fiber wrap is being used to cover entire cars, interior pieces etc OR a place that does window tinting on cars uses this type for that as well.

Just a thought.

Unsightly film on microwave after cleaning with bleach.

Purchase a stainless steel cleaner from anywhere. They usually have lemon oil in them that leaves a nice shine on the surface. You can even use furniture polish in a pinch it is about the same. An oil free choice would simply be window cleaner and paper towel. My moms old fashion secret to no streaks was newspaper for drying with. Works great. Good luck.

The tempered glass on the outside of my microwave oven broke. Can I replace this with plexiglass and keep the microwaves from leaking?

Pliglas does not inhibit microwaves. Generally, even the glass door isn't protection either. A special film, usually a polymer, is applied to the inside of the glass. The 'film' looks like a black or gray 'screen' with little holes in it.

Blue film partly removed

The blue film is supposed to be removed. It is used only to protect the appliance from scratches during shipping. Some consumers mistakenly leave this film on thinking it will make the appliance last longer. Eventually, over years of use, the film becomes difficult to remove and may remove the finish if you try to peel it off. It is not required for the safe use of the microwave oven.

Can't locate the "protective film to prevent possible scratches during transport. This film must be removed before using the oven for the first time" We purchased the unit today.

The protective film is usually covering the glass door. If it's not there and the glass is still in good shape, no problem... just install the microwave and you're in action!!
