Password reset I set a sim lock password on my Sony Ericsson w550i and now upgraded, I am wanting to sell the phone but can't because it only works with my sim card in it i need sum sort of password reset if u could please help out thanks

Here are the steps for unlocking a Sony Ericsson W550i,
1 - Switch ON your Sony Ericsson W550i without any SIM Card,
2 - Press the left arrow key/button once,
3 - Press the button * twice,
4 - Press the left arrow key/button once,
5 - The message "Personalize with MNC2" will appear, (or you will have displayed an unlock menu, select the lock you want to unlock)
6 - Enter the Unlock Code.

You need to take the phone to a mobile store and ahve them reset the code for you

Contact your system operator to help you and get your real code. Once you have that go to settings, locks, sim, the change password.

Go to the service center of your mobile phone company and ask them to reload its software in it... otherwise try to remember that code!

You should have a PUK number, on the plastic card where your sim card was. Enter 2-3 more pin numbers and your phone will lock itself and request the PUK number... tap it in and hey! presto.
PUK number is available from your service provider.

The lock code is from your previous provider. They have apparently locked your phone into there company. You can ask them for the code but you will probably have to pay a small fee to release your phone. Or you can go online and find the code if you know how to look for it. Ebay sells codes to release your phone as well if that is any help to ya. Hope this helps and good luck.
